  • Description

I'm Javi, and I'm a Science teacher from Spain. I lived in Canada in 2018, 2019, and 2025, and I try to spend my vacations as a Workawayer there as much as I can. I'm passionate about nature, wildlife, and photography, and I'm always smiling!

In Spain, I own a piece of land where I live semi-off-grid, so I have experience with woodwork and farming, and I'm great with animals. I’m in good shape and don't mind hard work.

My main goal in life is to enjoy nature, people, and the small everyday things. I have a rewarding job as a teacher and spend most of my free time bikepacking, but I also have an intense longing to explore wild places—that's the reason Canada is always on my mind.

I really enjoy meeting new people, but I'm also very independent, which means I feel comfortable being alone in remote areas (I have house-sat by myself in the remoteness of the Yukon at -35ºC!). I'm quite flexible about everything and can adapt to any situation or need, so we can all find that sweet spot of 'giving and taking' that Workaway experiences always offer.

I don't smoke, drink alcohol, or use any kind of drugs.

  • More details about your skills

I have developed myself small carpentry projects and have used a large variety of power tools in my own workshop.

I'm good in gardening and I can use a clearing saw. I have some experience with electric chainsaws and, of course, chopping wood.

I have dogs and cats, so I'm good with pets. I have hens as well, and my family used to breed cattle when I was younger, so I know a little about farm animals.

Finally, I see myself as an extremely tidy and organized person and, as I'm a Science teacher, I usually get along well with teenagers!
