My heart's desire is to meet people in their immediate environment and in their everyday life with everything that goes with it. I am happy when I can support my hosts in the way that is best for them and matches my skills. You can see this in my list of "skills and knowledge" and in the diverse feedbacks below.

The associated travels and knowledge of the surrounding nature, culture and ways of life are always magical and enriching for me.

I prefer to do long stays of about a month or more. However, I am very flexible.

I am very much looking forward to meeting you.

Mon désir le plus cher est de rencontrer les gens dans leur environnement immédiat et dans leur vie quotidienne avec tout ce qui l'accompagne. Je suis heureuse lorsque je peux aider mes hôtes de la manière qui leur convient le mieux et qui correspond à mes compétences. Les voyages associés et la connaissance de la nature, de la culture et des modes de vie environnants sont toujours magiques et enrichissants pour moi.

Je préfère faire de longs séjours d'environ un mois ou plus. Toutefois, je suis très flexible.

Mein Herzenswunsch ist es, Menschen in ihrer unmittelbaren Umgebung und in ihrem Alltag mit allem, was dazu gehört, zu begegnen. Ich bin glücklich, wenn ich meinen Gastgeber auf die Art und Weise unterstützen kann, die für ihn am besten ist und meinen Fähigkeiten entspricht. Zu sehen in meiner Liste meiner "Fähigkeiten und Kenntnisse" und in den vielfältigen Rückmeldungen unten.

Die damit verbundenen Reisen und das Kennenlernen der umgebenden Natur, Kultur und Lebensweise sind für mich immer wieder magisch und bereichernd.

I have experience: to work with children and older people, in marketing and sales, with healing, massage and reflexology and with gardening, trimming and so much more... I am not shy about tackling.
I love cooking, eating, good wine, singing (music), humour and sitting together in a cosy atmosphere.
Being a trained life coach, I am happy to use my skills if they are needed.

J'ai de l'expérience : auprès des enfants et des personnes âgées, dans le marketing et la vente, dans les soins, les massages et la réflexologie, dans le jardinage, débroussailler et bien d'autres choses encore... Je n'ai pas peur de m'attaquer à tout.

Having agreed two weeks as a "last minute" placement although I wasn't at the time specifically looking for anyone, I was happy to extend the agreement with Janine and she ended up staying for five weeks, which I think speaks for itself! I have used the Workaway programme for the past ten years and I can attest that she is an excellent example of… read more the concept and ideology behind it.

In terms of the work required she gave her all to every one of the various tasks that I assigned to her. She is a perfectionist and doesn't cut corners - indeed, there were times when I had to tell her that what she was attempting was not possible with the tools available, like trying to clean and restore to the original my teak garden furniture without a sander, which I do not have. The end result though, was superb even without one! She gave a much needed spring clean to my sitting-room, dining-room and TV room all of which are furnished with largely English wood furniture, much of it antique. The end result was a very visible improvement, and even if she did find having to use the specialised polish hard work she never flagged! She proved to be excellent at polishing silver too!

As a house-guest and a companion Janine was ideal, being independent and non-intrusive, totally respecting my privacy as I did hers. She is cheerful and positive, but on the rare occasion when she wasn't (don't we all have them!) she made herself scarce! She was extremely helpful and actively looked for things to do to help - laying the table, washing up etc. She is also very clean and tidy around the house. She likes to have a routine and once we had established what mine is she very easily fitted in with it.

We spent interesting evenings together exchanging stories, views and ideas - and lots of laughs! She took an interest in everything and during her free time spent a lot of it exploring what the area has to offer. We also spent a memorable day in Lourdes where I was happy that she found the Basilique and grotto area as spiritual and as mystical as I do.

So it only remains for me to say a big "thank you" Janine, for all your hard work and for being such good company. I am sure that we will stay in touch and our paths will cross again. My very best wishes for the continuation of your travels go with you, and I hope they are filled with the nice hosts that you deserve, and exciting new adventures and discoveries!
