Description
Hey there! I'm Janine, a 30-year-old woman from Finland. I recently reactivated my profile and I am traveling again in spring 2025!

My Workaway story:
In December 2020 I decided that I want to spend the year 2021 volunteering and learning new skills. Since then I have taken part in 8 different projects - all of them special and unforgettable. I have stayed with families taking care of their lovely children, worked twice with horses and had three very different farm stays in Germany, Turkey and Guatemala. I didn't only manage to learn German during this journey but also fell in love with a fellow volunteer (Mark) who then became my partner in life and travel!

Besides my experience with Workaway, I have gained valuable experience working in offices, hotels, behind a bar and in an ecological NGO in St. Petersburg where my main task was teaching school kids about the environment. Recently I completed an internship working for the EU in Brussels. At the moment I am finishing up my university degree in humanities and writing my master's thesis as I travel ;)

I am an outgoing, open-minded and positive person. I am really curious about the world and people in general and I am always willing to learn something new! I could basically say that I am interested in almost everything. But things especially close to my heart are animals, nature (especially the forest), music and languages (I speak five!). I am always looking forward to broadening my horizons and I think Workaways is perfect for that!

I am always looking forward to learning new languages and I tend to learn pretty quickly! I can also teach you some of the languages I know. Actually I have a Swiss friend who after living with me now speaks pretty good Finnish!

I am independent and learning new things quickly. I am also hard-working and in a good physical condition. I only see possibilities to learn new skills so there is not a work that I wouldn't like to try to do :)
