Hi there! I'm James, a digital nomad from the UK who is looking to embrace new opportunities and experiences through Workaway.

A little bit about me:

I've always had a passion for travelling which has led me all around the world. In my early 20s, I backpacked through Mexico, South America and Asia. I've been fortunate to live in Australia and New Zealand, and I currently split my time between Tenerife and England.

I’ve had a diverse career which includes teaching English as a second language, creating online courses (since the pandemic) and also working in hospitality managing co-working and co-living spaces.

My best attributes are being open-minded, adaptable, and eager to take on new challenges. I’m happy doing physically demanding work and love getting my hands dirty. I'm good in the kitchen and can also assist with computer-related tasks, like improving website copy and doing basic SEO.

Physical work - I'm fit, healthy and good with my hands so I can help with any type of manual labour jobs. I have some experience with painting, decorating and landscape gardening.

Cooking - I love to cook for others whether it's shared dinners or barbecues with plenty of experience doing this from running a coliving space and cafe. I understand food safety and hygiene and I'm flexitarian, so I'm happy to adjust the food that I eat to accommodate others.

Written and spoken English - I have lots of experience teaching English, plus content writing, high-level editing of websites and other media, SEO and other work related to digital marketing. I have a degree in Business studies and experience running different businesses.

Animals - I'm an animal lover and have owned and looked after several cats and dogs in the past. I don't have much experience with other animals, but I'm comfortable around all creatures and of course I'm willing to learn!

I have a Spanish driving license, plus EU residency and full working rights through my Irish passport.

I like to have an active lifestyle - I love rock climbing both outdoors and indoors. I'm really into hiking and exploring nature, plus snorkeling, swimming, surfing and any other activities you can do at the beach.

I'm a movie and book lover, especially anything related to psychology, sci-fi and business. I'm quite fond of getting into deep discussions over a good glass of wine!
