Activities we are interested in:
We are currently teaching in Murcia, Spain, but moving to a new school in Santander this Fall! Hoping to find a host family to au pair for or have a cultural exchange with for the Summer! :)
Our next destination:
Santander, Spain - from Jun 2025 until Jun 2026 View allDescription
We are from the United States but are currently living in Spain as English teachers. We both enjoy reading, writing, learning languages, trying new foods, going to concerts, and being outside in nature. Jacob plays drums and piano and Treasure plays violin, sings, and knows a bit of banjo! We love the beach, finding new coffee shops to enjoy, and working with kids. Treasure is an excellent cook (and bakes from time to time. She used to work in a bakery!) and Jacob is the resident dish washer and launderer in the house haha. Our biggest goal this Summer is to work on our Spanish. In turn, we would love to share our native language with you, help out with projects you have, share meals, and explore your city with you! Our general goal with Workaway is to meet new people and to become better acquainted with our new home here in Spain!

More details about your skills
In the past few years, we have worked at summer camps, libraries, and schools (both in the United States and here in Spain). We are currently language assistants teaching English at Spanish primary schools. We also do private tutoring with kids outside of school who want to perfect their English skills further.
Treasure is great in the kitchen , learning new recipes and exploring how best to use produce that is in season and grown locally. She is also keen on working in the garden and taking care of plants, both indoor and outdoor.
Jacob is a very talented musician and writer. He is definitely the more creative and artsy one of us both and is great at coming up with stories, planning crafts, and discovering and talking about new music (he especially loves Jazz music)!Age

What else ...
Things we really enjoy doing in a new city we're visiting is go to coffee shops to hang out and read, shop for cool clothes pieces in vintage stores, explore parks or outdoor spaces, find live music (either going to concerts or finding a jazz bar or something) and going to art or history museums to better learn and understand the place we're visiting.

Special dietary requirements
For health reasons, Treasure is pescatarian (meaning only eats fish/seafood). We eat a mostly Mediterranean diet, focusing on fruit and vegetables as the main part of our meal. We love spicy foods and trying new things!
