I'm Izzy, 26, and I've decided to take some time to travel. I'm from rural Australia originally so I love adventuring and exploring in nature and a bit of gardening but also enjoy live music, cooking (often experimentally), yoga, and chilling out watching a movie or two. I love to travel as well as getting to know people along the way and making new connections around the world!

I have been learning French recently and I'd love the opportunity to immerse myself in a place where I can speak with, and learn from, others in order to develop my skills. I also studied Indonesian throughout school and briefly during University. Although my level has dropped, I am able to teach the basics and I'd love to chat with others in this language if possible. I was born and raised in Australia, so I am fluent in English and am willing to practice with others or help them with any questions they might have about the language.

I completed my Bachelor's degree in 2019 (Sociology) and undertook a Horticulture course afterwards, so my interests in culture and the natural world are easily translated into work-related skills. Having worked in Hospitality and Retail for the last 10 years (I have a Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate as well as certificates II and III in Hospitality), customer service is also second-nature to me. I have worked closely with animals as well- I was a dog walker for about a year while studying! Before commencing university, my interests in language and the arts led me the opportunity to complete an IALF Certificate for Bahasa Indonesia and attend the Kwong Lee Dow Young Scholars Program, where I had the chance to interact with a wide range of people and make new connections. In between my courses in Sociology and Horticulture, I completed a short Harvard course in Chinese Philosophy.
I have a lot of interests and love to pursue new skills ranging from more manual work to academia. I am always excited and passionate about new people and experiences, so I'd love to continue to learn and develop internationally.
