Description
Hi there,
being in touch with local people living their lives the best way they believe in and exploring new countries and cultures, gives us the feeling of sense and deep immersion. We love time working, speaking, eating, sharing, and in general, doing something meaningful together. Different countries with their unique people and landscapes, nature - including flora and fauna, water, sunsets, and sunrises... that everything makes us happy. Irena is into nature - loves plants, herbs, bird watching, gardening, music, hiking, water sports, cooking, reading, sharing... Kenny is a keen geographer, explorer, hard worker, reader...
Together with my husband, Kenny, we did a bit of WOOFing in New Zealand (for a couple of months, 20 years ago :-) as we've been into organic farming and partial self-sufficiency. We loved getting to know local farmers and the international community there.
Nowadays (2026), we live in the Czech Republic, the magnificent city of Olomouc. We are a family with three kids (Philip - 15 years old, twin sisters Helen and Elisabeth - 9 years old).
From September 2026, Irena is going to have kind of gap year from her work as a teacher. She is going to keep her work on managing Erasmus project for her colleague teachers and pupils, working mainly on-line and only limited time a day. It enables her and the twin girls to have more free hands and time to live abroad with open families to accept a woman with two girls to help around garden, with animals, cooking, maintenance, kids, and other types of help. Our desire is to be part of a different family, possibly a farm or a household, to work and share together, to get to know about your story, about the country you live in, your culture, to use English in real place so the daughters practise it natural way. To help doing something meaningful, to learn on the way. Some two hours a day, we should dedicate to our out-schooling. We believe that this experience can be enriching for all sides. We can stay for approximately three weeks - depending on the expectations of the host family, time of the year... And a similar time back home in Czechia. Everything can be discussed. Sometimes, Kenny and Philip can join us, but mainly, it is going to be about mum and two daughters. -

More details about your skills
Irena, with her background in environmental studies and has been trained as an English teacher too, can help with farm and garden tasks (such as pruning trees, weeding, seeding, watering, milking the animals - after some practicing now, etc.), cooking, cleaning, babysitting - including preparing some interactive games for older ones...
Zdenek, nicknamed Kenny, has been working for International Development Studies at Palacky University, Czechia. He is well experienced with many types of hard and light farm and garden work (such as digging, cutting, working with chainsaws, saws, axes, trimmers, pruning trees, weeding, seeding, watering, etc.). We have our backyard and garden ourselves, which gives us quite a lot of practice, too. Kenny knows some work with wood, too, getting experience from our little projects in our garden, attic, etc.
We are open to helping with various tasks and eager to learn new things :-)... -
