Hey! I am Krzysztof and since the beginning of the year 2020 I have started working on my own homestead, which in the future may become home for other people as well or possibly will grow into something even bigger than just a homestead. As this project is in a very early stage of development, your input will have a tremendous impact on the outcome. In fact, you with your creativity can decide on which path this project will follow, and you can add your own colours and spices to how it looks!
The place is located in a picturesque valley in the Subcarpathia region of south-eastern Poland, close to the towns of Dynów and Brzozów, in Hłudno village. It is surrounded by Nature, yet easily accessible with friendly countryside and small-town atmosphere nearby. There are several creeks and streams running throughout the valley (with a cute little waterfall just a short walk away), wild, diverse forests and meadows full of flowers. This is a fantastic place to enjoy Nature, dwell into it to cleanse your body and mind, and also to share and gain new skills and experiences.
My homestead is not a typical one. It is aimed to be made up mainly (or mostly) of geodesic domes, planned to be raised in the following years. Each of them is aimed to have its own purpose and design fitted to that purpose. The domes are designed to fit into passive solar design and be made mostly of natural materials, to reduce their impact on the environment. I also look into the use of modern materials and technologies, as they in fact may bring us closer to being neutral to the Planet.
The homestead is completely off-grid, yet I produce my own electricity and plan to use solar power for heating water. The place has good network coverage (LTE), so it is convenient for staying online or remote work if you need to do so, while being in the middle of wilderness. As for now, it is possible to stay with me in the dome that is already here, however this is a shared sleeping space.
People of all walks of life are welcome, as long as they are willing to take part in cultural and skills exchange and to take part in a common creation of this place. Pets are welcome and I have a dog and several of her puppies at the moment.
The place is free from alcohol and tobacco and this needs to be observed as a rule, as there are people coming here who come here to enjoy drug-free energy and even heal from their own addictions. If you have a problem with any of such habits/addictions, please use your time here as an opportunity to let them go.
The place is also open for people who would like to stay here for longer periods of time (to live here alongside me on equal terms), however this would require creation or taking part in co-creation of your own shelter.

In return for your input, I will gladly share my skills and experience regarding wood working, dome design and raising, off-grid living, my view on permaculture, ecology and so on. I can talk for hours about bees, trees and fungi, and I have a broad knowledge of all aspects of biology, ranging from genetics to ecology, rising from my academic background and years of experience.
I will gladly share my culinary skills with you, which also come from my knowledge about human physiology and biochemistry, as well as from several years of nomadic travel around the world.
On top of all of this, the Nature will definitely suffice your needs for your stay here. This is a perfect place to cleanse your mind while on a walk among the hills, or to deep cleanse your body with the magical clay that is present in huge quantities in the waterfall and in the pools of the streams. Yup, I live in a spa, and some spa-goers would pay a high price for what is available here for free to everyone!
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
The project is in an early stage of development and there are several projects which I would like to be completed by the end of this year.
The first one is the upgrade of the dome that is already here and which used to be my base for the first few months here. After the refurbishment, the dome will be providing shelter and sleeping space during colder months. If needed, it becomes a sleeping space for several people as well. This project includes working with clay, bricks, strawbale, wood and other materials.
The second project is a little dome greenhouse, however this will be done only after the first project is completed. Some work on the foundation and digging is already done; also the dome that will cover it eventually is already prepared.
Among those, there are several smaller or more flexible projects, such as creation of sink, bread oven and much more. In fact, there is a lot of room for projects which will make the place more colourful and beautiful, including decorations, painting, making signs and so on. Your creativity is very welcome here!
There are also other things that need to be done on regular basis, such as collecting firewood, bringing water from the waterfall. We tend to cook and eat together as well.

As for the moment, I can offer you a place to stay in the dome. It is currently prepared to be insulated for the winter. Also, there is a huge mattress in the living area (next to the fireplace), and it's a natural choice for many people, as it allows watching the stars before falling asleep and being woken up by the sun. There are also places to put hammocks or tents, if you prefer.
The food is provided. We cook vegan or vegetarian meals and eat together. Quite often I use freegan food or what I receive locally from the neighbours.
There is no strict plan of the day. Sometimes I get up early and sometimes I stay in bed till late. I do not like being told what to do early in the morning, therefore I respect the right of others to get a proper rest. I tend to eat late breakfasts (around 11AM). Before that time, your activity is up to you. After the breakfast, I like to spend some time working. After dinner, the way you spend the rest of the day is up to you. I like to go for walks or sit by the fire, however sometimes the situation requires me to work till late.
We can make consensual decision on taking a day off; it doesn't necessarily have to be any of the standard weekend days. I like to follow lunar calendar and celebrate Full Moon and New Moon.
The area is beautiful and open for exploration. I have two bicycles available for us to use, there are plenty of trails good for hiking and there's a lot of opportunities for road trips. Just four kilometres away, there is a stunning valley of the biggest river in this part of the country (San) and it is fantastic for road trips in any direction. The higher mountains (Bieszczady, Beskid Niski) are within reach of a day trip, including the stunning Solina Lake.
Limited internet access
We have pets
We are smokers
Can host families
My place, while being in the midst of wilderness, has the convenience of constant LTE coverage. If you do not have data packets for Poland, I can create wi-fi hotspot for you.
The cars can be parked in two separate spots: one more easily accessible and one harder to reach, but definitely allowing for more privacy. It is up to your decision which one you will choose upon your arrival.
Pets are welcome, but please let me know beforehand if you plan to bring an animal friend with you :)
