I'm a primary school teacher and carer. I try to spend my time helping others. It gives my life meaning and the Iove and friendship I get in return are incredible. In Australia I have mostly been working in hospitality and farming.
I've always known I would live abroad. It started with an international internship teaching English in India, then I traveled to China to teach English. My sister decided to do a working holiday visa in Australia so I decided to join her. I figured why not. I want to see the world, pick my favorite place to live, buy a property surrounded by nature and start a family :)
Would love to learn more about diving, hiking, survival skills, sustainable lifestyle, surfing, skiing, swimming in the ocean, climbing (even though I'm very much afraid of heights), canyoning, caving, rafting, yoga, teaching, arts, sailing, the ocean, nature, animals, making wine or beer... Anyone able to teach me more about cooking, would be really nice too. I love cooking, and eating. More specifically I'm really interested in learning to make patisserie and bread. I'm a decent cook, but there is still lots to learn and many many new flavors and combinations to discover.
I practice ashtanga yoga, so you should be able to find me on my mat in the mornings. Apart from that I enjoy running, swimming, hiking, walking...
I eat mostly vegan. I have a weak spot for patisserie, tim tams and almond chai balls so I'm not a very strict vegan. During workaways I'm happy to eat vegetarian if that is easier to accommodate.
I have a wide range of skills. I can confidently say that if I do not have a certain skill, I'm eager to learn it. I'm a hands-on person with a can-do attitude.
In my free time I like to read, sit in the library, walk through the city, drink good strong coffee, meet up with friends, browse through op-shops, cook, hike, swim, run, watch some Netflix from time to time... I enjoy learning and perfecting language skills.
I enjoy travelling the most when I can integrate in the local society. What's the point of visiting a country if you don't get to know the locals and their culture /habits.
I have a curious mind. I guess that's also why I like workaway. It gives me an insight in people's lives and how you can live your life, often different from what I know or how I grew up.
I have a wide range of skills. I'm a primary school teacher. I teach several subjects such as: Dutch, French, English, arts, sciences, mathematics, physical education, yoga...
I'm an experienced carer. I've worked with children and adults with mental and physical disabilities.
I have experience working in hospitality. Bartender, barista, smoothiemaker, waitress, runner, dishwasher...
I have 6 months experience in farming and tree planting.
I have general experience in house maintenance like painting, gardening, cleaning...
I'm not claiming to be a master in any of this, but I am eager to learn (more). Successful people are 10% talent and 90% dedication
I definitely stand by this!
In the future I want to become a yoga teacher for children. No need to say I am a very dedicated to my own practice.
