More details about your skills
I grew up on a farm in New Zealand, so I’ve always had a strong connection to outdoor work and animals. I’ve worked on my family’s sheep and beef farm and spent my teenage years working on dairy farms.
Recently, we’ve started reforesting our farm with native trees, and I’ve been involved in several tree planting projects as part of this initiative.
Through various Workaway opportunities across Europe, I’ve gained experience in gardening, harvesting fruit and berries, and olive picking.
In addition to this, I have a solid background in hospitality, having worked in bars, cafes, and restaurants. I’m accustomed to fast-paced environments and providing excellent customer service. I’ve also worked in hostels, handling check-ins, cleaning, laundry, and assisting guests, as well as in campgrounds where I performed similar tasks, such as maintaining outdoor areas, setting up tents, and painting/fixing.
I’ve been part of Workaway groups ranging from just myself to larger teams of up to 30 people. I’ve even taken part in cooking for these groups, which I thoroughly enjoy. I love the joys and challenges of living in a community, sharing food, and experiencing different cultures. This aspect of Workaway is definitely my favorite part.
I’m highly versatile and adaptable when it comes to living arrangements, whether in caravans, large hostel rooms, or even living out of a tent for two months. I’m not at all fussy and am always willing to adjust to new environments.Age
