Description

I've been a professional Viola player for all of my working life and have recently stopped playing to become a full time visiting Violin and Viola teacher at a number of schools in London and the south east of England.

Much of my free time over the last 15 years has been spent in other parts of the world volunteering as an English and music teacher. I have so far volunteered in Trinidad and Tobago, Northern India, Sumatra, Sri Lanka, Chile, South Africa (as a Workawayer) and Namibia.

These periods in my life have been my happiest and most memorable. I thrive on exploring new places, meeting new people and can't imagine I will stop travelling any time soon despite being nearly in my mid-50’s.

Fortunately I have been able to rent my apartment on Airbnb during my travels and have very much enjoyed making my home as hospitable as possible for my guests and as such I have been a 'superhost' for over 12 years now.

Despite living in London, I am naturally drawn to nature and wildlife. From September, I will be a student of the Royal Horticultural Society and will be working towards a level 2 certificate in the principles and practices of horticulture. I am hoping to improve my knowledge and skills to make my garden as wildlife friendly and as beautiful as I can.

I am a quiet but sociable person who loves to keep busy and enjoys keeping fit and going to the gym.

I have a CELTA certificate for teaching English to both adults and children. I'm most comfortable am teaching conversational English rather than grammar however.
