HELLO 🌻

I am a marine park ranger in the sunshine state (Queensland) of Australia. I am travelling in Colombia for a few months (Aug-Oct) and so excited to learn about the culture, meet new people, eat good food, explore, and dance!

I am committed to making a positive impact on this planet (and the people in it) 🌏 and always seeking opportunities to make a difference. I am caring and conscientious and what I lack in experience, I make up for in enthusiasm and a willingness to learn!

I crave community, and love meeting new people and learning about alternative ways of living. I have found that volunteering is the absolute best way to do this, as long as you remain open, curious and kind. Volunteering is such a great way to challenge yourself, broaden your perspective and be inspired.

I love getting my hands dirty in the garden and growing my own food - there is something so satisfying about cooking and creating with food you've grown yourself!

I love all things nature (my recharge ✨) and am always up for a hike or explore 🌿 I am also an ocean-lover and enjoy yoga, reading and meditation. I also love dancing! Back home I take salsabachata classes but have been dancing for a long time (including as a choreographer and Zumba instructor) and sincerely believe that no party (or kitchen) is complete without a boogie 💃

I have 5+ years hospitality experience and 4+ years community engagement and education experience, all of which have given me a wide range of skills and a strong work ethic.

I have volunteered and worked in a number of local and national environmental not-for-profits and local government, and am super passionate about climate justice, community connection, sustainability and waste avoidance.

I've had incredible opportunities volunteering in sanctuaries and conservation charities where I gained a range of skills and experiences including in maintenance, construction work (e.g. building pond infrastructure for sun bears), enrichment and animal husbandry.

It's so important for us to have time to build a meaningful connection with our volunteers, we have a pretty strict 2 week minimum stay, we're thinking to even bump it up to three weeks.
