Description
Hello, and welcome to my profile!
I am an open minded, positive and happy go lucky type of person who loves traveling and meeting new people and experiencing new things. I think the best way to really experience a place is to stay for at least 2 - 4 months, getting to know the culture and the people. I don't feel you can truly have the same appreciation if you are just passing through.
I grew up in the Middle East and my family and I moved at least once every 2 years, so I suppose the traveling bug has always stuck with me.
I have had various jobs in the past from the Royal Navy, Construction, film and TV security and teaching ESL (which I have enjoyed the most).
I've been working as a specialist educator and mentor to wayward children for the last few years, and although rewarding, it is very challenging. I feel at a point in my life where the 9-5 lifestyle has burnt me out, and that I have been on a hamster wheel waiting for the right time to make the jump. Which I feel is now; I am happiest when I am travelling, immersed in a new culture, socialising with like minded people, exchanging stories and enjoying the moment
I am now working towards a degree in Education, and looking to spend my time travelling and teaching English.
In my free time I enjoy wandering around places and normally getting lost. I enjoy most sports, especially tennis and Jujitsu. I also like to spend time writing, especially when I am camping by a fire. I also like learning about alternative therapies, philosophies and alternative ways of living. I also get great pleasure from building and gardening projects, such as building structures from old material, to planting vegetables and harvesting them.
I'm a very sociable person and work well as part of a team, but also happy doing things on my own. I am happy to do hands on jobs and/or reception work and language exchange. I also have a love for all animals. -
