Description
Hello, I am Georgie :) 29 year old Aussie in Europe.
From rural South Australia, I left a career in community legal work to travel. Workaway has given me the opportunity to travel with purpose, to learn from a variety of experts, and to get my hands dirty.
In Australia I led a disaster legal support program which assist people before/during/after natural disasters. Now I have a good deal of knowledge about disaster prevention and preparedness. Have even spoken at a number of events sharing the hard learnt lessons!
I also volunteer with the State Emergency Service. This was a great way to get to know people in my small town. I also got to absail down cliffs, rig up pulleys, learns some basic mechanics and drive some big trucks! Felt like a big kid playing with big toys on some days, and a lot harder on others.
I have always been passionate about the environment, doing revegetation projects from a young age. Long term plan is to stay in this space and develop an understanding of how all regions are being impacted and their relationship with that.
I have been travelling through Workaway/WWOOF for over a year now. From house restorations in France/Turkey, to vendanges in France/Australia, to organic farming in England!

Like most travellers on this app, I adore being outdoors. Always up for a hike, a swim, or a cycle. Recently finished a 500km cycle across Holland (very flat!).
