Hello! My name is Jorge, I’m a 42-year-old from Guatemala. I consider myself a responsible, respectful, and adaptable person who enjoys helping others and learning new things. I’ve already had amazing Workaway experiences in Montenegro and Estonia, and I’ve traveled to Colombia, Honduras, El Salvador, Mexico, and all around Guatemala, my home country.
I love spending time in nature—swimming in rivers and lakes is one of my favorite activities. I’m also deeply interested in ancestral knowledge and traditions, inspired by my Mayan roots, and I enjoy learning about sustainable living and cultural heritage.

I come from Guatemala—what I like to call Guatemaya, because it’s truly the heart of the Mayan culture. While Mexico and Honduras have Mayan heritage, Guatemala holds the majority of this rich history, and I’m proud of my roots.
I love spending time in nature, especially swimming in rivers and lakes. I’m passionate about learning new things, from technology to ancestral knowledge inspired by my Mayan background. I also enjoy riding and maintaining bicycles, and I’ve taken a bakery course, so I can share some delicious bread recipes with you!
Traveling is a big part of my life—I’ve explored Honduras and Mexico on my motorcycle, and I’m always excited for new adventures and cultural exchanges.
