We have a beautiful eco house in the forested mountains 45 mins from Athens.
Our aim is to live sustainably and inspire visitors who may stay a few days or weeks or just attend seminars showcasing the challenges and opportunities of alternative living.
We are off grid relying on the sun to power our low impact lifestyle.
We develop new technologies and as far as possible grow our own food.
A positive attitude, willingness to help, and respect for the environment are the basic attributes we require.

Workawayers will learn about living sustainably using a variety of techniques ranging from solar PV panels that power the house and charge electric cars to solar thermal panels which provide hot water for washing and heating. There are a number of innovative thermal heat storage systems and energy generating devices. Kitchen waste is composted and fed to chickens. Bath and toilet waste (toilets are conventional sit down type with water flushing) is composted too for use in the vegetable garden. High yield techniques including aquaponic vegetable gardening is being experimented with. We encourage debate and exchange of views regarding sustainability. We are very much a multi cultural and share opinions, insights and ideas.
We need hands on practical people who have an understanding and positive view of sustainable living who can contribute to the work we do.
Typical tasks may include the following, (guidance will be provided). Gardening including helping to construct irrigation systems, watering, planting from seed and digging holes, making compost including using the grinding machine, cutting weeds using an electric strimmer, harvesting from the garden and forest. Maintenance of house including painting, tidying, cleaning, simple woodwork / furniture making for those who have these skills, collecting recycled materials. Art projects made from recycled materials for those who are creative. Cooking simple vegetable dishes plus assistance in hosting open days requiring welcoming guests and offering drinks / snacks.
May suit a variety of people ranging from graduates to farmers to builders young and old. Singles, couples, families, young or old.
Accommodation ranges from double bedrooms with ensuite facilities to single bedrooms to dormitory style within the main house. Kitchen and living areas are communal. We as far as possible eat together. Breakfast will be based upon muesli and fruit. Lunch and supper will be based upon local in-season vegetables. We are a sustainability organisation but note that sustainability isn't necessarily always synonymous with veganism however in reality we are mostly vegetarian but we can also cater for non veg guests.
The house is 1 km from the sea, ideal for lovers of the outdoors, lots of walking, bike tracks and climbing, the air is clean there are no busy roads but no public transport either. Workawayers may use the bikes provided. The nearest metro and airport is 20 minutes by car.
