Description
Hello!
My name is Floriane. I turned 30 last year, and until then, I had been splitting my time between Paris and traveling the world. As a freelance journalist, I took every opportunity to explore new places — from North and South America to Asia and across Europe.
After completing my first Working Holiday Visa (WHV) in Australia from late 2022 to late 2023, I returned to France to work in a high school, teaching teenagers with mental health conditions — my goal was to give a more sedentary lifestyle a proper try for a year.
…But eventually, I decided to leave my apartment for good and return to Australia for a second WHV in late May 2025. Just like during my first year in your beautiful country, I started by working on a farm before buying a vehicle — a van the first time, a 4WD this year — and turning it into a camper.
After a year of hard work punctuated by road trips ranging from one week to a month and a memorable first Workaway experience, I am back on the road for a two-month journey from Perth to Darwin, Alice Springs, and eventually back to Noosa, in Queensland.
Meeting inspiring people and learning new skills have always been some of my favourite parts of travelling, which is exactly why I’m here on Workaway today 😊

More details about your skills
Alongside my experience as a journalist (writing and photography), I’ve worked as:
- a hostess in Paris
- a store manager in London
- a French teacher in Ireland and Australia
- an English teacher in a French high school (for teenagers with mental health conditions)
- a farmhand in Australia
- a heavy machinery operator in Australia
- a waitress in Australia
I also have experience with charity work (cats, and supporting underprivileged people).
As you can probably tell, I’m curious and eager to keep learning new skills! Finally, I’m also into DIY projects — I built the structure of my van myself during my first WHV, and converted my 4WD into a camper during my second :)
