Hello!
My name is Floriane. I turned 30 this year, and until last May, I was living half the time in Paris and half the time as a backpacker. As a freelance journalist, I traveled as much as I could — from North and South America to Asia, and across Europe.
After completing my first Working Holiday Visa (WHV) in Australia from late 2022 to late 2023, I returned to France to work in a high school, teaching teenagers with mental health conditions - my goal was to give a more sedentary lifestyle a real try for a year.
…But eventually, I decided to move out of my apartment for good and come back to Australia for a second WHV. Just like during my first year in your beautiful country, I started by working on a farm, then bought a car (a van the first time, a 4WD this year) and converted it into a camper.
Before my next job starts in NSW at the end of October, I’d love to make Noosa and its surroundings my home for a while. Meeting amazing people and learning new skills are a big part of this journey, which is why I’m here today on Workaway :)Interests

More details about your skills
Alongside my experience as a journalist (writing and photography), I’ve worked as:
- a hostess in Paris
- a store manager in London
- a French teacher in Ireland and Australia
- an English teacher in a French high school (for teenagers with mental health conditions)
- a farmhand in Australia
- a heavy machinery operator in Australia
- a waitress in Australia
I also have experience with charity work (cats, and supporting underprivileged people).
As you can probably tell, I’m curious and eager to keep learning new skills! Finally, I’m also into DIY projects — I built the structure of my van myself during my first WHV, and my 4WD during my second :)Age

What else ...
When I’m not outdoors or meeting people, I love spending time reading. I’m also really into cinema and would be happy to exchange movie recommendations! And while I’m not an amazing cook, I love good food just as much as I enjoy a beautiful sunset :)
