🌍 Family of 5 on a one-year journey (2026–27) through Asia, Africa & Europe.
We seek immersion and cultural exchanges where we can learn, share, and contribute together as a familyOur next destination:

Description
We are a French-Singaporean family of five (two parents and three daughters, aged 5, 10 and 11), setting out on a one-year journey from July 2026 to August 2027. Our plan is not tourism, but immersion: living with local families, volunteering in communities, and learning from the cultures we encounter.
Our path will take us through Asia, Africa, and Europe — beginning in Bali and Japan, then onwards to China, Nepal, and India. In early 2027, we will spend time in Kenya and Tanzania with community and animal welfare projects, before continuing to Senegal, walking the Camino de Santiago in Spain, and closing our year in France.
Throughout the journey, we will homeschool our daughters while also teaching them through real experiences — working alongside hosts, contributing where we can, and learning by sharing daily life.
For us, Workaway is the heart of this trip: a way to meet generous hosts, to exchange skills and stories, and to give our children the chance to grow through kindness, curiosity, and service. -

What else ...
During our family gap year, we will be home schooling our kids. We need about 3h/day to do so and can include other kids which are interested in being taught as well. Our teaching will be focusing on Math, Science, English, and French (through books and online materials). The 2 eldest girls will follow the curriculum of Grade 6 and 7 of the English system; while the younger one will be learning how to read and write.
My wife and I have volunteered when we were younger. We would love our kids to be exposed to the benefits of giving back and be immersed in different culture.
* Loic - 2 months in Peru teaching in orphanages; 3 weeks in Spain building eco house;
* Anne Laure - 2 months in Madagascar for a school renovation and teaching; 6 months in Finland with disabled people; 10 months in India teaching kids in Mumbai -
