Description
Γεια σας !
We are Débora and Fabien. We met 5 years ago volunteering at a farm in Greece. After a beautiful trip together, we parted ways but have always kept in touch while pursuing our own adventures in different parts of the world, until we met again this summer and worked together in a farm in Switzerland. Now, we are ready for traveling back together again and for new working experience. Working and traveling together flows smoothly and joyfully!
Debora
I am from the north of Spain.
In 2020 I quitted my job and started learning about self-sufficient way of life. I was interested in it since several years ago. So I decided to take the step and make a change in my life.
I travelled through Europe for the first year, and in Latino America for the last five, working in different projects, getting knowledge about countryside way of life and self-sufficiency and alternative ways of life. I am now back in Europe.
I am interested in bio construction and permaculture.
I have some experience in permaculture gardening and bio construction with clay and straw, superadobe, and I have worked a bit with wood. I enjoy physical and outside work.
On the way I've learnt to make handmade products such as natural hygiene products, natural fermented drinks, cheese, craft beers...
I like nature, hiking, yoga, reading and music, and knowing new places and cultures.
On the way I have shared my yoga practice with different people, which I've been practicing for more than 10 years.
I feel travelling and knowing new places and people is the best way for getting the knowledge and tools for my own growth.
From my working experience I can say that I work as well alone as in team.
Fabien
I come from France and, for the past 6 years, have been traveling by road and stopping in farms along the way. While I went as far as India, Greece was the place that most captured my body and soul, and I ended up staying there around 2 years in total.
I'm very interested in agriculture and a nature enthusiast. I'm the happiest outdoors, doing manual activities and preferably the hands down in the earth. In the past six years I have been developing my understanding of cultivation and animal husbandry, through working in farms and being an active member of a community garden at home.
My experiences in farms have been centered mostly around animals (sheep, goats, cows, chickens, cats and dogs (feeding, milking, shearing (sheep)... ), olive trees (harvest, irrigation, helping with the pruning process, mulching... ), tending to vegetable gardens, making products out the milks and fruits/vegetable from kitchen, and baking.
What else about me ? I love food and especially cooking with friends or people I've just met and share a nice meal. This is close to my definition of happiness. I love languages and discover local traditions in new countries. Before being a nomadic farm worker, I was a French teacher for foreigners in India and Sri Lanka. -

What else ...
I enjoy playing all kind of board or card games, as long as long as you get to spend a fun time in a friendly company!
I love reading (mandatory before sleeping) and watching movies (although the list of movies to watch is getting longer faster than the list of movies I've watched, that's the down side of living on the road).
I love sports, especially those which require little equipment such as running and swimming. Nothing beats for me the euphory felt after some intense exercise in the middle of nature! -
