About Elizabeth:
I was born and raised in Victoria, BC, on beautiful Vancouver Island. I'm a free spirit who was brought up in a very alternative household where my sister and I spent most of our time outdoors helping our mum, playing in the woods, visiting the local cats on our scooters, and singing for residents at the local retirement homes. We never had cable TV and I was home schooled until grade 6. I am a musician who plays guitar, piano and the harmonica. I can speak French at an intermediate level, despite having taken French Immersion all the way to grade 12. If you don't practice, you start to lose it.. I can also speak beginner level Spanish. Maybe we can practice?? 😊 I love going camping, especially by myself. I find playing instruments to be very therapeutic and tension releasing. Frolicking in the woods and swimming in bodies of water brings me great joy. Acquiring new skills is something I really appreciate, as I am hoping to live self sustainably in the future. I am looking to come be a part of your family and help out in any and every way possible. l'm quick to learn skills I do not possess and I have a very enthusiastic attitude. I enjoy bringing others encouragement in whatever way I can.
About Christian:
I was born in Edmonton, Alberta, raised by a single mother. I played hockey growing up and practiced multiple martial arts. I was always very focused in school and teachers frequently told me I am the charismatic type, scientifically minded and gifted at writing.
I lived with a psychiatrist named Philip on a mountain property in Victoria, who taught me how to swing an axe properly. We also worked on a ship engine together. Later on, I met Elizabeth, the love of my life. I feel like we work really efficiently together and I continually have a blast with her. She nutures me and brings out the creative aspects of my personality. We spent the summer of 2024 camping in golden together which helped us strengthen our bond and solidified us as a pair that can work through any problems/difficulties that may occur.
I am a team player and I am here to lend a helping hand to anyone who is in need of service!Interests

About Elizabeth:
Since I was a child, I helped my mum in the garden with raking, weeding, watering, composting and general up keep. I also help her collect firewood and saw logs to feed our fireplace which is our main source of heating.
Our neighbours trusted my sister and me to care for their animals while they were away on holiday. In grade 9, my friend and I started the backyard chicken program to show our community the benefits of living self sustainably. We raised chicks in the high school courtyard for the whole four years we attended that school and cared for them until they went to go live with their respective families. One year we hatched and cared for ducklings. My sister and I also cared for the school pets which were chinchillas and degus. We ensured their wellbeing and cleanliness and took them home for the holidays. From the winter of 2021 to the fall of 2023 I worked at two farms in 100 Mile House and Salmon Arm respectively via Workaway. I took care of horses, pigs, chickens, rabbits, dogs and cats as well as helped with the harvesting and selling of haskap berries and garlic. I have been working on farms in Kamloops and Winlaw this year via the wwoof site, helping with weeding, transplanting, and general maintenance of gardens and grounds as well as caring for more horses and chickens. I house cleaned for two years in Victoria as well, so I am proficient at sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming and overall tidying.
About Christian:
I worked at a car dealership as a detailer for my first job. I did lots of driving and snow removal there.
I am adept with a chainsaw, and can split and stack wood. I can repair fences and work with power tools. I can also do painting if needed. Starting this year, I have gained horse experience from working at a farm we stayed at in Kamloops which housed rescue horses. I have previously worked with wolf dogs (feeding and walking) on Vancouver Island. I can dig ditches and move rocks. I have lots of experience felling trees (& splitting rounds) as well. I worked as a saw operator in Edmonton, AB this spring (2024). I possess a drivers licence and have a clean driving record.Age
