Description
Hello!
I'm a 26-year-old Australian who grew up exploring the outdoors around Sydney. Whether that meant hiking through the forest with the family Border Collie dogs, mountain biking, or taking drives up into the mountains to camp, that love for the outdoors eventually drew me to the remote region of Central Australia, where I lived and worked for four years. I am social in small groups, enjoy a good chat about travel, sports, psychology, food, culture and politics.
I have been solo travelling since April 2026.
I am an honest, physically active, and independent person. I’m not into the party scene and tend to skip the typical tourist hotspots. Instead, I prefer to travel slowly, immerse myself in local environments, and building genuine, authentic connections with the people I meet. I’m just as happy sharing a quiet conversation over coffee or working hard on a physical project as I am exploring a rugged mountain.
For me, travel isn’t about checking boxes or taking photos of famous landmarks; it’s about understanding how people live and contributing to the places I visit. I love getting stuck into practical, meaningful work and learning new skills. I’m looking for hosts who value community, hard work, and authentic cultural exchange.
Professionally, I am a Social Worker (Child and Family therapist) taking some time off to take life a little less seriously and learn about myself and the world. I am very open to new experiences and have been described as highly curious. I am a big believer in taking on opportunity as they come my way. As a therapist I am reflective, and enjoy listening and learning about the lives people around me. I am a flexible thinker that likes to be challenged as there is no one right way to do something.
One of my best memories recently was spent travelling through the Solomon Islands with some friends from Australia. We spent a week on an island living with a family I'd met 10yrs ago. We spent the days reading, diving and chatting, and the evenings with the family over dinner chatting about life and sharing stories. There was an authenticity and simpleness about this trip that I won't forget. No internet, healthy food, the sounds of the sea sending me to sleep at night, the sounds of birds and a boat paddling into the island waking me to sunrise in the morning. I am looking experiences that are just as authentic. -
