Description
Hi !
My name is Diane. I'm a 28 years old outdoorsy girl from France. Discovering New Zealand has been my dream for the past fiew years, so I'm really happy to finallly be able to make it come true ! I'm here on a Working Holiday Visa.
As I'm pretty curious (in a good way), I'd love to live with different Kiwi families and learn a lot about different lifestyles and the environment. I'm a botanist back home and not only am I interested in plants but also in wildlife (I like going bird watching). I enjoy being outside, gardening, hiking, helping with handiwork and animals. When these activities are not possible, I like to just read, watch a movie or drink tea and chat with the people around me. In my daily life, I'm calm and smiley.
Being really far away from my family and friends will not be easy but I can't wait to meet extraordinary people here and live tons of great adventures !

If someone is interested in learning/speaking in French, it would be my pleasure to spend some time on it ! I've never been in a 'teacher's position' but it would be a great experience. Also, trying to teach the basics of German could be really fun too ! During a travel in Canada in 2019, my south american roomates (from Venezuela, Colombia and Mexico) started to teach me spanish. I forgot a lot but I would definitively be interested in catching up with this language.

More details about your skills
I've had the chance to do some Woofing in a farm in Germany a few years ago, where I helped gardening, building up fences, milking goat, weeding and picking up the eggs from the chicken coop.
During my studies (agronomy), I did an intership in an organic sheep rearing (meat) in France. My main tasks were to feed the sheep, move them between pastures (with the help of a really clever dog, luckily), keep the barn clean and give a hand with the sheep which needed special care (babys, injured sheep, ...).
Even before (right after highschool), since I was passionate about horses, I completed an 1-year apprenticeship in a riding center.
Thanks to my 'do-it yourselfer' parents (especially my father), I've learned how to handle basic handiwork like painting, using a saw, screwdriver, hammer, etc. I'm not qualified to do a lot by myself but could sure be of help for little projects !
Sadly I don't live up to the french reputation : I'm not a great cook. I don't mind to help preparing meals but for the wellness of people around, I usually avoid to lead it (unless it's crêpes !).
Of course, I'm open to learn and try to do myriads of new things !!!

What else ...
Since I plan on travelling across New Zealand, I'm interested in staying for 3 to 4 weeks in the same place each time. I also wish to buy a car on my arrival to be independant for my trips.
I'm used to adapt to people's way of life and know how to be respectfull of different beliefs. I'm eager to learn a lot and to be useful to the people who will welcome me. Can't wait meeting you !
