Description
G'day! My name is David, I'm 21 years old and from Germany.
Over the last few years, I've learned that the experiences I value most are the ones that take me out of my comfort zone, connect me with new people, and allow me to experience different ways of life.
One of the most memorable journeys I've had was travelling through Australia. I spent several months there, including an unforgettable road trip along the East Coast in a campervan. Sleeping under the stars, exploring remote places, meeting people from all over the world, and experiencing life outside the cities taught me a lot about independence, adaptability, and appreciating the simple things in life.
Since then, I've become even more passionate about travelling, learning from locals, and gaining real cultural experiences rather than just visiting tourist attractions. That's exactly why I'm excited to start my Workaway journey and connect with people in a more meaningful way.
I consider myself a positive, reliable and hardworking person who enjoys helping others. I love meeting new people, learning about their way of life and hearing their stories.
For me, travelling is about much more than visiting new places. It's about stepping out of my comfort zone, learning new skills, and experiencing things that I will remember for the rest of my life.
I hope to meet great people, lend a hand wherever I can, and create memories and experiences that one day I'll be able to share with my family and future children. -

More details about your skills
I wouldn't say I'm a professional in any trade, but I've always enjoyed practical work and helping wherever I can.
Growing up, my family and I did a lot of work on our house ourselves. Because of that, I've had the chance to learn quite a few things over the years. I've helped with painting, assembling furniture, tiling, moving things around, and general maintenance work. I enjoy working with my hands and seeing progress at the end of the day.
Another thing that taught me a lot was living on my own. When I was 17, I moved into a small apartment and lived independently for three years. That experience taught me responsibility, organisation, cleanliness, and how to take care of myself without relying on others.
I've also worked in a restaurant, which taught me how to work with different people, stay friendly under pressure, and be reliable. Even when things get busy, I try to stay positive and get the job done.
Travelling has taught me a lot as well. During my time in Australia, I learned how to adapt to new situations, solve problems on my own, and get along with people from all kinds of backgrounds. I travelled the East Coast in a campervan, and being on the road every day taught me independence and flexibility.
I grew up around animals too. We had rabbits, ducks, cats, and a dog, so being around animals has always felt natural to me.
More than any specific skill, I think one of my biggest strengths is that I'm willing to learn. If I don't know how to do something, I'm happy to listen, learn, and give it my best effort. I genuinely enjoy helping people and being useful, whether that's through physical work, helping around the house, cooking a meal, or simply lending a hand wherever it's needed. -

What else ...
I’ve played football (soccer) for over thirteen years and I’m really passionate about it. I still enjoy watching matches whenever I get the chance — I’ve always followed the sport closely.
I also like to keep my body fit and healthy. I do daily home workouts and try to eat nutritious food. Living a long, fulfilling life is very important to me, and I believe good health plays a big role in that. That’s also why I love cooking — it’s a great way to stay healthy and enjoy life at the same time :) -
