Description
Hey! My name is Daniel 🙋
I’ll be spending the first half of 2027 in Japan on a Work & Travel visa — and I’m super excited to go back!
I already spent a year in Japan before. Most of that time, I worked at ski resorts in Nozawa Onsen and Hokkaido, and later at a hostel in Hiroshima. At the ski resorts, I did a bit of everything: maintenance and repair work, housekeeping, and some cooking.
At the hostel, I mainly did cleaning and handled guest check-ins in both English and Japanese. I really enjoyed talking to travelers from all over the world and helping them in their own Japan adventure.
Even though I’ve lived in Japan before, my Japanese is still at a somewhat beginner level. But I can usually explain what I mean and handle familiar conversations, like I did during check-ins at the hostel. Right now, I’m taking Japanese classes at a community college in my hometown, and by the time I arrive next year, I'll be speaking more naturally and confidently in daily situations.
My goals for this time are to dive even deeper into Japanese culture and traditions, improve my language skills, reconnect with old friends, and hopefully make sone new ones along the way!
