  • Description

Hi! We’re Crosby and Sarah, an adventurous couple from the United States. We both work seasonally for the U.S. Forest Service, which gives us the wonderful opportunity to travel during the winter months and escape the snowy mountains of the Western U.S.

Crosby is an avid outdoorsman who spends more time sleeping outside than in. His specialty is rivers, and he has spent years navigating the waterways of the world in any craft you can think of, from raft to kayak to canoe. He is passionate about conservation work and the ecology of the places he visits. He loves learning about the plants and animals wherever he spends time. He also enjoys backpacking, diving, snorkeling, and surfing.

Sarah also loves spending time outdoors and is a budding farmer. She studied sustainable agriculture and has spent several years working on a variety of farms, learning about both crops and livestock. Her passion is with cattle, but she loves all animals and has been a trusted primary farm caretaker. She also enjoys spending time in the garden, tending to vegetables and flowers. When not working outside, she loves making art in whichever medium inspires her at the moment, and enjoys surfing, biking, and kayaking.

Together we make up a quiet, hardworking couple who enjoy living simply—whether that’s in a dry cabin, a tent, or a camper van. (We spent last summer exploring Australia in one!) We’re happiest when we’re outside, working with our hands, and learning new skills from others who share a love of the land and animals. We both love DIY projects and are creative and capable in building and working on projects.

We’d love the opportunity to help out on your farm or hostel—whether it’s caring for animals, working in the garden, maintaining property, or lending a hand wherever needed. We bring enthusiasm, reliability, and care to everything we do, and we’re excited to be part of meaningful, grounded work.

Looking forward to connecting with you,
    Crosby and Sarah

  • More details about your skills

We are both Rangers for the US Forest Service, so things like conservation, resource management, sustainable living, and ecological impacts are our specialties. We both don’t mind getting our hands dirty and hard work is not a foreign concept to us. We are both easygoing and can get along well with anybody.

Crosby has worked with his hands for a long time, mainly various maintenance tasks. He knows his way around tools and can use them. He has limited farm experience but is easily taught and is a hard worker. Crosby is conversational in Spanish.

Sarah has worked on various farms and done much sustainable agricultural work throughout college and after graduation. She has worked on a cow farm in Alabama, a dude ranch in Wyoming, and lives on an off grid cabin in Idaho.

We are both heavily accustomed to off grid living. Crosby has worked in the wilderness for a year living at a backcountry guard station with no power, and Sarah currently spends her summer living in an off grid cabin. We both spend much of the year living in our van and trailer.
