Hi my Name is Chiara
I live with my two cats and love animals in general. I'm a teacher for childern with special needs and love my work. I am half swiss and half italian and have a lot of Family members living in Italy. I love to travel and get to know different ways of living and cultures. I love beeing surrounded by nature, but also very much like to live in the City of Zurich.

I am very good at working and taking care of animals and human beings. I like crafty things but am in no means a Professional. I'm very motivated and ambitious to learn new things. I like gardening a not and am not bad at it. I can ride horses, and have a not of experience with dogs and cats. Since I am a teacher for Schilder with special needs i know a not about disabilities.

I absolutely loved staying with Thomas and Diamanto!

They are so kind and put all of their hearts into the work for the dogs and cats in the Shelter and also all of the stray animals in the area. I stayed there for one motnh and I would have loved to stay for sooo much longer...
We lived in an apartment right next to Diamanto and Thomas where… read more we were two workawayers. Each of us had a private room, we shared a living space and kitchen, a bathroom and and outdoor-space where a super cute Dog lived. In the outdoor space you could relax in your free time and hang your washed clothes. We could use the Washingmashine any time we wanted and we there are also some clothes from previous workawayers to use. Diamanto is an excellent Cook and cooked nourishing, warm meals for us everyday. She showed us many traditional dishes and even bought us traditional sweets, baked cakes and fresh bread and made sure we also always had food for breakfast, enough Towels, Toilet-paper etc.. Diamanto also helped me with my day-travels on my free days and showed me nice places to visit. I rented a car at a place called Chalkidiki Auto (located in Nea Kallikratia) which is run by a friend of Thomas and Diamanto and i can absolutely reccomend them if you wand to visit the area by car. I could park the car at the Shelter. What my tipical Day looked like:

First thing in the morning was to give food to the dogs and clean the water and clean the waterbuckets or just fill them up if they were clean. Then we cleaned the poop in all the areas and made sure that every dog gets his/her daily cuddles. After the loop cleaning we collected the foodbuckets. Every other day i also cleaned the porch of the House from dust. When that was all done early enough there was time to go for a walk with some of the dogs, which i loved. Every other Day i also cleaned the enclosures of the dogs. Then i also cleaned the cat-toilets every day. Sometimes we helped Thomas with giving Medication to some dogs. In the afternoon it was time to go out with the Goats which was always very funny and nice. In the evening I often asked to go for more walk with some dogs, because i loved it an the dogs were extremely happy to be out. All of the dogs are super friendly, soo thankful and happy to be cared of and very loving. The area is quite, surrounded by nature and a cute Village 20 min walk where there were also food-markets. Thomas and Diamanto also teached me a lot about dogs behavior and how they manage to keep so many of them peaceful in a pack. I learned so much, had so much fun and felt so at home with Diamanto and Thomas. I am already looking forward to coming back!
