Hello! We are Chiara and Javier, a Spanish-Italian couple who have been living permanently in Madrid since 2015. With us lives a sassy little cat named Maruzzella, who is the queen of the house!
We love to travel and try to do it as often as possible. We speak Italian, Spanish, English, and French, which allows us to communicate easily in diverse environments. We love music, even though we don't play any instruments, and we really enjoy listening to the stories of the people living in the places we visit. We don't believe in short trips because we love immersing ourselves in the life of the community, to discover its beauties as well as its contradictions.
Chiara is a professional translator. In her free time, she enjoys small furniture restoration projects. She also have a passion for baking bread, which she does twice a week. Javier is a history teacher at a high school with a passion for learning about different countries’ cultures and history. He loves spending time outdoors and enjoys escaping to the countryside whenever we can. He's happy to get his hands dirty with whatever is needed.
We are excited to share our skills and enthusiasm, and we look forward to helping out and learning new things through Workaway!

Chiara is a translator with a background as an Italian teacher. If you want to learn, she will be happy to give you some lessons! She also has some experience restoring furniture, giving old pieces new life. Javier is handy around the house, and always eager to understand how things work so he can fix them when needed. He also has some skills with gardening, and maintaining outdoor spaces.
Both of us enjoy cooking and can prepare delicious Spanish and Italian dishes. Chiara has her own sourdough starter, with which she makes bread, pizza and focaccia.
We also love animals and are comfortable caring for pets of all kinds.
