Hi! We’re Charlie and Ella, a couple currently cycling our way around South America.

What started as a small bike trip in Chile quickly turned into something much bigger — we completely fell in love with life on the road. Now, we’re continuing our journey through South America, travelling slowly by bicycle so we can truly experience the landscapes, communities, and cultures along the way. Whilst we love life on our bikes, we’re also looking to fill our time off of the bikes with meaningful experiences. We want to contribute, learn new skills, and connect with local people in a way that goes beyond just passing through as travellers.

We’re new to cultural exchanges in South America but very excited to get involved and learn. One of our biggest goals is to improve our, currently very basic, Spanish so that we can better connect with the people we meet and fully embrace the cultures of the countries we travel through.

Charlie is a skilled handyman with farm experience and a creative, artistic side. He previously volunteered through Workaway in New Zealand on a small holding, where he helped with animal care and land maintenance. He enjoys practical projects, working outdoors, and finding solutions to problems.

Ella worked in England as a housekeeper and has strong experience in cleaning, organising, and maintaining welcoming spaces. She loves animals and is always happy to help with their care. She also has a degree in Environmental Science and is especially interested in sustainable living, permaculture, and learning practical, eco-friendly ways of life.

Travelling by bike has taught us resilience, teamwork, and how to stay positive in new and challenging situations. We are both enthusiastic, adaptable, and not afraid of hard work. We’re keen learners and ready to get stuck into whatever tasks are needed.
