***For the month of July 2026, I am looking for a quiet and peaceful activity that I can combine with writing my master’s thesis, which I will defend in August. I need a calm place where I can focus, study, and work on my computer. ideally a home with not too many people, where I can have my own space. House-sitting would be perfect for me (watering plants, taking care of the house and everything around it), and I also truly enjoy dog-sitting. I am open to similar arrangements or something that doesn’t require too much of my time, but is still meaningful and valuable for you.
I have a lot of experience with Workaway and other projects, and I consider myself very reliable, respectful, and independent!***


Hello!

I am Carolijn from Belgium. I am a quiet, nature-loving intro-/extravert, 25 years old and almost officially graduating as a biologist. I love expressing myself in many different ways, through music, painting and drawing, dancing, being outdoors or staying in, interacting with humans and animals, reading, learning, feeling, and sometimes simply being quiet.

I am always on a journey to learn and to experience. Traveling to different places and settling there for a while, taking on new jobs and making myself useful, is my favourite (and somewhat unconventional) way of travelling! Through Workaway, I feel I learn endlessly about the world, about people, and about myself.

A few things about me & my skills:

- I bake surprisingly good vegan cakes
- I draw very well and am eager to learn how to paint
- I have a broad collection of weird but fascinating biology facts
- I am very good with animals (I’ve ridden horses, worked at a dog shelter, and well...I am a biologist)
- I am usually calm and quiet, but I can also be very loud (when I play the violin)
- I love to sing and play the guitar, but I'm too shy to sing in front of people (although I have done in the past!)
- I practice stick-and-poke tattooing with one needle (still improving!)
- My fashion sense resembles that of a grandmother from the 60s–70s
- I danced ballet for 12 years and also learned tap dance
- I am a vegetarian for 7 years, and always try to live as eco-friendly as possible
- Music is my essential to life (I listen to everything and cannot live without it)
- I love getting lost in a good book
- I’ve had my driver’s license for seven years, though I’m still a bit scared to drive
- I love being outdoors and working with my hands
- I dream big and tend to pursue too many hobbies at once
- Grey, rainy weather is my favourite
- I mostly look calm and at ease, but I am actually very stressed sometimes
- I thrive in winter and don’t really like summer
