  • Description

I’m Camille, originally from France, where I live in a small town not far from Paris. I work full-time in public administration as a civil servant, but I’m currently taking a break from my job. To pay the bills, I do odd jobs (factory work, customer service, working at a gas station, an amusement park, and even as a postman).
This will be my second experience as a workawayer, though I’ve been traveling for some time now. I’m naturally curious and enjoy meeting new people, exploring different cultures, and sharing whatever life brings.
I’m eager to lend a hand wherever I can be of help. I’m always keen to learn, pick things up quickly, and I’m not afraid of hard work. I like staying busy.

Update – November 2025 : I completed a successful first one-month experience as a Workawayer in a hostel in Sarajevo. During this experience, I carried out the following tasks:
    - Reception duties: welcoming and assisting travelers, providing help whenever needed, answering emails, checking bookings, charging guests and processing payments, using the Front Desk Master software
    - Cleaning duties: cleaning bedrooms (dormitories and private rooms), cleaning toilets, showers, stairs, hallways, kitchen, and terrace, making beds (stripping beds, washing, hanging, and folding linen, and remaking beds)
The host trusted me and the team of five other Workawayers to manage the hostel independently during their five-day absence, which was also a great experience and a big responsibility.

Here’s a bit about what I can offer, though I’m open to any role that would be helpful:
-Reliability: I’m dependable and take my commitments seriously. When I give my word, I follow through. I also enjoy being there for others, just as others have supported me when I’ve needed it.
-Community work: I am interested in initiatives that create a supportive and caring environment. I’m adaptable and enjoy working as part of a team. Kindness is something I truly believe in.
    - Hospitality & Tourism: Experience in customer service. I also volunteer at a concert venue, where I serve drinks at the bar and greet artists, help them feel at ease, serve meals, and clean up the kitchen and dressing rooms after the events. I can help with hotel work.
    - Cooking and Hands-On Help : I can lend a hand in the kitchen. I don’t mind cleaning, organizing, or doing basic tasks.
    - Intergenerational connection: I’m comfortable with elderly people and enjoy hearing about their life stories. I also care for my 6 and 3-year-old niece and nephew during school holidays, spending quality time with them at the playground and engaging in creative activities.
    - Training: I have some experience in teaching. I’ve trained different groups in subjects such as computer skills, starting a micro-business, and urban planning regulations.

  • What else ...

I’m a simple person who enjoys the simple things in life. I love meeting new people, whether our encounters are brief or evolve into lasting connections. I enjoy feeling and making others feel something—especially through art. I do theater and love performing, being part of a troupe, and after the curtain falls, sharing a meal or even a vacation together. I’m also learning photography, which helps me appreciate the ordinary moments in life, stay present, and embrace the occasional frustration (like missing so many photos!).
