  • Description

    Hi there!

    We are Chris and Fiona.

After spending Sept 2023 - May 2025 devotedly bringing an old 1940's cottage and garden (with glorious veg beds) back to life, we said goodbye and sold the lovely home we made, and spent a few months on our first Workaway project in Devon (renovation of period property and grounds).

We're now looking for our next project! We love the great outdoors, people, and community. Health, wellbeing, nature, and good bit of honest work are our bag. We are both family orientated and enjoy adventures, crafts, and outside time with our nieces and nephews.

We have a whole host of skills to offer (see more in below section) and lots of positive energy to share. Neither of us drink or smoke but we're not boring! We like to play games and love getting a group together for a game.

    Chris:
I am a very keen hiker and camper - I walked over 1000 miles from Scotland to Cornwall in 2022, taking three months with my tent on my back! I love the camping community, meeting new people, being part of a team, and a good bit of hard work. I'm an animal lover and have a naturally calm and nurturing presence around animals. I love problem solving, fixing things, and transforming a space, be that a good tidy or complete renovation.

    Fiona:
I've recently stepped away from 26 years as a hairdresser, 17 of which I've run my own salon, moving naturally from hairdressing into holistic coaching 5 years ago, being in service is in my nature. In my personal life I have been a lover of the outdoors and animals from day dot, I thoroughly enjoy and get a lot from being in nature and in service.

  • More details about your skills

    Chris:
I am a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife and Practical Conservation. My varied career has involved being a Chef, being a Ranger on Londons biggest green space, working in Admin, being a Wildlife Guide, working in Social Care, working in a Timber Yard, being self employed in joinery and building, and I have even been a housekeeper!

I am quite used to working with a selection of manual tools as well as power tools. I am physically fit with a good attitude to work. I've done a fair few personal projects in my time from home renovation to the garden.

I am good with people, I was a devoted carer for a family member and worked in Social Care for over 3 years. I naturally hold space for people well and am aiming to use my empowerment facilitator certification to run retreats with my partner, Fiona, in the future; running breathwork, movement, and fire walking experiences.

I'm good around the house: I enjoy cooking tasty and healthy meals, I clean to a high standard and take pride in my space, I love spending time being playful with the kids, and am quite handy when repairs are needed.

Overall, patience and pride in a good job done are my best qualities.

    Fiona:
I am a people person and interact with new people with ease.
I enjoy deep, explorative conversation on topics ranging from health and wellbeing, to spirituality and beyond.
Having overcome my own challenges, I have a wealth of knowledge that supports the improvement of a healthy mind, body and lifestyle.
I'm a kid at heart and enjoy creating imagination based games with my niece and nephew.
I'm a good solution provider, with strong intuition.
Outside is my favourite space to be, which has allowed me to enjoy and develop the gardens I've had, from basic bed clearance, lawn maintenance, and growing vegetables from seed to fruit/ veg, caring for them as they grow.
My cooking and baking skills have developed over the years and I thoroughly enjoy sharing food.
I take great care in looking after a space as I believe our environment is one of the most important for our health and for what we want to create or experience.
I enjoy spending time with children as they are our greatest teachers, giving space for them to use their imagination and show us what really matters.
