Switzerland View allDescription
My name is Chris.
I grew up in Germany and spent the last 15 years living in Switzerland.
During this time I have worked in various professions, i.e. research, education, acting and event management.
Staying in pretty much the same spot for my whole life has provided me with many wonderful opportunities to learn and grow, but has also made me hungry to see more of the world. I had amazing opportunities in the past to work for as a teacher and environmentalist in various countries all over the world, which has only made me want to continue to travel and take part in other meaningful projects.
I'm a very social person, although I definitely need a bit of alone time to recharge my batteries. Changing environments can be a bit daunting at times, but I will always warm up to people and share my stories. I'm also very eager to improve my language skills, so hosts who speak Spanish, French, Chinese, Japanese or Korean are highly appreciated.
I'm a creative and artsy guy. If you like poetry, play an instrument or want me to teach you some improv games, we will get along for sure.Interests

More details about your skills
I have worked in many different areas of expertise. As such I would say that my greatest strength is my flexibility and the ability to quickly aquire and apply new knowledge.
So far I have worked in the following specialized fields:
Researcher (2 years)
I have a Master degree in Neuroscience. I know how to follow protocols, design experiments and work in a meticulous and organized manner.
Teacher (3 years)
Both in a classroom setting and as a private tutor I can transfer knowledge in an engaging way and understand how to create a non-competitive learning environment for my students.
Actor (4 years)
Specialized in both classical and improvised theater I can perform in front of an audience. Although I'm an introverted person in privat, I am very expressive and outgoing on stage. I can also teach acting skills.
Event Management (4 years)
I know how to plan and organize events carefully. I have a friendly way of communicating with customers and am able to moderate events.
Various
I had a variety of smaller part-time jobs. Most notably I have served in cafés, worked as a dog-walker and had a position as janitor's assistant in a local museum. I know how to take care of facilities, do small repairs and serve customers.Age

Although there were one or two downsides, I decided to give this Workaway a five star rating. Given that the most recent review of three stars is overall pretty negative, I want to address a few points that review mentions:

My only "regret" was not staying longer, because three weeks was just too short.
Everybody was really nice and I learned a lot about religion and Christianity. People were really happy to talk about it, but nobody ever forced the topic onto me, which made it a really easy and… read more
