Hello !

My name is Augustin Dechamps, I'm 26 years old. I've just finished a master's degree in Journalism in Brussels and I've decided to take a year off to experience other jobs and travel. So here I am in Italy for four months, curious to learn new things, a new culture and a new language.

I'm naturally curious and social. I like to keep active and feel useful, so doing a workaway seemed the logical thing to do. I've done several different jobs over the last few years. I've worked for an organic farm as a salesman and in the fields, I've worked in several bars and restaurants, in the kitchen and the dining room, and I've also studied law and philosophy. I'm always on the lookout for new knowledge and I'm a fast learner.

I love cooking and reading. During my travels, I particularly enjoy long hikes in the mountains. I also like the intensity of big cities, for long periods, to immerse myself in the daily life of the inhabitants. During the workaway, I'd like to have time to take language courses on the side and explore the surrounding area. I'm also always up for group excursions, meals or just a drink (although I like to be fairly independent).

I have experience in farms and gardens. So I'm used to looking after plants, maintaining fruit trees and growing vegetables, doing odd jobs, etc. I'm quite a handy person. I also know how to cook.

My experience in a restaurant has given me a strong sense of organization. I'm used to being proactive and can be quite independent in my tasks. I'm also patient and like to do things meticulously. I'm a quick learner and curious.
