Description
Hi! My name is Marco, I’m from Chile 🇨🇱 and currently finishing my final year of studies in Biomedical Informatics. I'm passionate about technology applied to health, and I’m also very connected to nature, photography and audiovisual work — areas where I’ve been working professionally for several years.
I consider myself a calm, respectful and enthusiastic person who enjoys learning new skills and meeting people from different backgrounds. I love being in contact with nature, animals and quiet places. I’ve volunteered before in community projects, and I’m not afraid of manual work like painting, gardening, cleaning or helping with renovations.
In addition, I enjoy documenting experiences through photography, creating visual content or helping others tell their stories through images. I’m also currently improving my French, and I see Workaway as a great opportunity for cultural exchange and personal growth.
I’ll be in Québec this summer, looking for a volunteer experience between July 24th and August 9th, before visiting my girlfriend in Rouyn-Noranda. I’m flexible, reliable and excited to contribute wherever I’m needed.
Looking forward to hearing from you!

What else ...
I’m currently planning a meaningful trip to Québec during my university break. I’m traveling alone from Chile for the first time, and I’ll be arriving in Canada at the end of July. My goal is to experience something enriching through volunteering, before visiting my partner Nathalia, who lives in Rouyn-Noranda and will be available to receive me around August 10th.
In the meantime, I’d love to stay somewhere calm and inspiring where I can contribute, learn, and enjoy cultural exchange. That’s why I’m looking for a host near Abitibi-Témiscamingue.
My journey has been shaped by very diverse work experiences: from working with CONAF (Chile’s National Forest Service), to supporting guests and keeping high-standard spaces clean at Hotel Explora in Torres del Paine National Park. I’ve also worked in audiovisual production and photography, which is a big part of how I connect with people and nature.
I’m a respectful, friendly person, very adaptable, and always open to help — whether it's organizing, cleaning, painting, planting or simply sharing stories. I’m currently learning French and excited to improve it through real conversation.
