Description
Hia, thanks for taking the time to read my long profile :)
Naturally, it's an impossible task to fit my entire being into words, but I'll try my best:
My name is Anaïs Mitropoulos and I've been around the sun 24 times (already?)! I grew up on the Sauble River in Allenford, Ontario, Canada- my slice of paradise. I have developed a deep connection with these lands, waters and their inhabitants, which I recognize as a great honour and privilege. I'm grateful to be working as an Aquatic Field Technician with the Saugeen Ojibwe Nation Environment Office here at home. I also feel equally connected to my ancestral lands, the Φλώρινα (Florina) region of Western Macedonia, Greece, and I look forward to visiting family, friends and doing workaways across Greece again soon.
My creative force helps me get to know myself, the world and my relationship between them. I interpret life experiences as an inhalation in the form of socialization, learning or consuming media, followed by creative exhalation of visual arts (painting, drawing, sculpture, writing), physical movement (sport and dance), singing, and healing. Everyday, I intend to find the balance where I can breathe freely and help other’s do so.
I believe that my female energy and qualities allows me to patiently observe the subtle voices of nature learn from those intimate experiences. I am prepared to listen to the tragedy, comedy and joys of those around me and thoughtfully engage in supporting the community, to carry new teachings forward with gratitude. I carry an open mind/heart/spirit and creatively participate in experiencing, celebrating, and exploring our shared internal and external realms of life. (Hopefully, this doesn't sound too hippy-dippy-woo-woo!)
I'm a creature of habit that enjoys daily rituals and routines. Some things that make me feel at home, cared for and safe includes: stretching every evening, maintaining a clean living space, making time to call my family and friends when traveling, occasionally watching a show to relax, spending time outside, feeding my peanut butter and chocolate addiction :)
I have so many hobbies, I can't keep up with them all!
Bo Staff (martial art)
Creative writting
Journaling
Tai Chi
Reading
Nordic Skiing
Canoeing and kayaking
Dreaming (the sleep kind)
Rock climbing and mountaineering
Visual arts (drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media, textiles)
Dancing (preferably outside)
Making music (singing, jaw harp, bouzouki, tongue drum, piano)
But I am so much more than a list of verbs!!

I'm very enthusiastic about cooking and baking, so I'd be happy make shared meals. I'm always looking to learn, improve and share new recipes from around the world. I have experience in community initiatives to provide free meals which involved coordinating, preparing and distributing large-scale meals within a budget, accounting for dietary inclusivity and following food safety compliance.
I have worked in campgrounds, hostels and Airbnb's as a professional cleaner, which I find great satisfaction in given my love of organization, orderliness and attention to detail.
