My next destination:
Ireland - from Apr 2024 until May 2024 View allDescription
I’ve always considered myself an observer! I feel I’m happiest in nature, observing wildlife and feeling at one with it. I’m motivated to work with it, as part of it. I’ve also always been inspired to work with people, to learn from them more than anything else. I’m a very open minded gal, I'm adaptable and very easy-going. What I am, without risking sounding too poetic, is my experiences, which I've hit a bit of a rut with recently. Feeling burned out by the grievances of life and ready to offer help and friendship in return for the same thing from anyone with the same desire.
All I'm looking for in working away is to learn. Learn about and from new people, learn and develop my current skills, learn about a new place. I want to expand my skills and my mindset by working away!
But if I have to be particular I'm interested in sustainable living and would like to learn more about different methods and perspectives related to such to improve my chances of building my own tiny house and maintaining my own permaculture garden in the future! Otherwise, just lending a hand to whatever project you have in store and getting the chance to share life stories and philosophies with you suits me perfectly too.Interests

My abilities lie in various areas!
For one, I have participated in multiple workaways that involved gardening, minor DIY jobs house-sitting and pet-sitting.
I work a physically demanding job as gardener and groundskeeper and have been doing similar jobs for a couple of years now. I enjoy handling and caring after plants of different kinds, and am physically fit and experienced with digging, lifting and using relatively heavy machinery. I have an allotment where I also tend my own fruits and vegetables to try and live sustainably.
I lived with and cared for my grandfather for years, so understand what it means to be an elderly companion. I hold him and the years spent looking after him very dear to me, I value and miss the conversations we had, so I know that I can (and really want) to offer good company and aid to anyone looking for this too.
I am qualified to teach English as a foreign language, and would like to use this to my advantage more! I am also a little bilingual, I can speak both English and French.
I have experience as an au pair (in France, 4 months looking after a 9 year old boy) and am confident in the company of children, with two younger brothers age 8 and 10 now being my closest companions when I'm home!
I have experience working with shetland ponies, mainly just mucking, grooming and feeding them - I'm not a horse whisperer yet! I have cats, and love the company of dogs too.
I am educated in History and Politics to university standard, with a lot of experience working alongside technology and doing research. I really miss learning and desire to talk about these things - any humanity subject honestly - with someone with a similar desire.Age
