Lavinia grew up in a German-American household, and her exposure to different languages and cultures ignited a lifelong interest in embracing new experiences. After feeling unfulfilled in her hotel management career, Lavinia and her partner originally traveled through Workaway to find answers for their future and instead discovered so much more.

They gained diverse experiences, from learning Moroccan Arabic at an English language school in Casablanca to renovating a historic village in the Italian Alps, gardening in a naturist community in Southern Spain, and working at a theater in Sweden. This journey led her to discover a passion for nutrition, and she now works in the field while pursuing an advanced degree.

When not travelling, she is committed to helping local communities by promoting healthy living and combating food insecurity, and she hopes to continue this work on her next Workaway adventure.
