I stayed here for 2 weeks and they were an amazing family, I mostly helped outdoors building and improving some things, but also played games and helped with the children and some cooking. They instantly welcomed me and were a fantastic family to spend time with. The village and it's surroundings are also beautiful and extremely peaceful. Overall it was an incredible experience and thank you to the whole family ☺️

This was a second pair of people from Denmark Marie and Ida. They taught English with incredible creativity, introducing the children to many fun songs, engaging games, and interactive activities that made learning joyful and effective. The children at school and even those in our neighboring communities absolutely loved them, lighting up with excitement every day! Beyond teaching, Marie and Ida enthusiastically joined other school activities, built strong bonds with the children and staff, and got along wonderfully with fellow volunteers at our guest house. They adapted so quickly to our local food, humble community, plus our simple resources. They even extended their stay with us from 3 weeks to a full month and three more days and we never stopped enjoying every bit of their stay with us. Their warmth, patience, and positive energy were infectious. Thank you so much for the beautiful impact you made! You are always welcome back, please return soon!

We stayed for two weeks with Alison, and really enjoyed our time! The work was simple, a bit of gardening and maintenance, but mostly we helped Alison with Airbnb cleanings and changeovers. Expectations were clearly communicated and we always knew what we had to do. Our room was really nice and spacious, and we felt very comfortable in the space. Alison was kind enough to prepare meals for us, and she did everything she could to make us feel at home. Alison is a kind, generous and good person, and she went out of her way multiple times to help us. She made such an effort to welcome us in her community, from hosting poetry nights with all her friends to showing us beaches and inviting us to go surfing with her, or bringing us to her French lessons. We are very grateful for everything she did for us, and we highly recommend that anyone stays with Alison and Coco Chanel.

Yes, communication was challenging, because Olga was still learning German and our Russian is not exciting. But we managed also this part. ☺️ Olga was incredibly helpful, cleared lots of spaces in the garden, seeded and put new plants and: delivered an unbelievable good cake! We had a great time and wish you all the best on your travel on! If you ever plan to come back to Drahnsdorf, you are very welcome!

We had a great time with Annina! She is very hardworking and respectful. Her dog was super well behaved and their presence added beautiful energy to the group. She enthusiastically completed each task that we requested and showed great strength and adaptability. Thanks again Annina!

I´m so extreamly greatful and happy that my first solo trip was hosted by this family! I had the best two months I could have hoped for! Megumi-San and her husband are the most welcoming people I´ve met, and they made this whole trip for me so much more easier than I expected. Megumi-san is an incredible person with so much in her hands and still manages to be so positive all the time, it was always so nice to spend time with her and I´m especially grateful for giving an opportunity to someone like me with not much previous experience with young kids. I absolutely fell in love with Japan and Sapporo now has a special place in my heart. We got a lot of free time to explore the city and surrounding places. It is also so nice to have other workawayers to spend the time with and make new friends with. The bedrooms were so much nice and specious, more than I thought. The whole house overall was such nice and cozy place to just hang around and by the time I left, It felt like leaving home. Miku, Sera and Sora have to be the cutest little kids I have ever seen, they melted my heart immediately. With Miku, I loved playing all kinds of active games, for example red light, green light (which had a totally different name that I was never able to pronounce haha). The image of her dancing to pretty boy still plays in my head! Sora never failed to make me laugh with her own laugh, which I think is the most contagious laugh I´ve heard. Sora is such a happy child that you could just watch forever and still be entertained. Finally Sera, who I feel like i formed a very deep connection with, made my days, when all I could hear was her yelling my name and running to hug me when she saw me every time. They all are so, so special and you definitely won't find a single dull moment with them! I love you!! hope to see you all again someday! <3

We had the delight of hosting Annika, who stayed with us together with her friend during the month of January, and it was a truly positive experience. Annika took wonderful care of all our kids and especially the eldest during the school holidays—engaging, patient, and thoughtful, creating a fun and supportive environment every day. It made a big difference to have someone so energetic around. She also consistently contributed to our daily household routines. What stood out most was her creativity and positive attitude—she brought great energy into our home and was always willing to help wherever needed. Annika is kind, responsible, and easy to have around. We’re very grateful for her time with us and would happily recommend her to any future hosts.

While we did not stay with Hasan, he really helped us out in a big way with our travels in Cyprus. We appreciate him connecting us with Mario and Melissa as he did not have availability at the time. Thank you Hasan for helping us out!

We had an absolutely wonderful experience hosting Elisabeth as a Workawayer. In just one and a half weeks, they made such a positive impact on our home and family. They took fantastic care of our kids—kind, attentive, and full of energy, quickly building a great connection with them. We always felt completely comfortable and confident leaving them in her care. On top of that, Elisabeth was incredibly proactive and helpful around the house. They painted our outdoor furniture beautifully, which made a noticeable difference to our space, and they regularly surprised us with delicious meals and freshly baked cakes—such a treat! Elisabeth is reliable, hardworking, and a genuinely lovely person to have around. We would happily welcome them back anytime and highly recommend them to any future hosts.

Me and a friend stayed the whole January in Waikanae. We had a great experience. The family welcomed us open and friendly, it was easy to build a bond with the 3 lovely kids. We had the chance to come along the weekend trips and got many recommendations for the area. Waikanae is definitely not isolated, it's easy to visit the beach, or do some hikes, and walk trough the small city. I'm really glad to had the chance to get to know the place and family. :)

From our very first video call with Doro and Malin, we could tell they were wonderful people—and that feeling was confirmed from the moment we arrived. We felt warmly welcomed and at home right away. As the days went by and we shared more activities, we naturally built a closer connection with everyone. The accommodation was great, and both the shared and individual meals were amazing. We will always carry the fika moments in our hearts—they became truly special to us. From day one, everyone, Doro, Malin, Magnus, Pato, Lotta, made us feel included. They invited us to join yoga, we were invited to museums, local events, and to share different moments together. Thanks to this, we were able to experience everyday life in Sweden and see firsthand how Swedish people live: they are incredibly kind, warm, and a truly friendly society, even if they needed their own space. Among the many memorable experiences, we had the unique opportunity to work on a frozen lake, which made our stay even more special. We also enjoyed delicious rainbow trout produced and cooked by Malin and Magnus—an unforgettable meal. We were lucky to celebrate Patrick’s birthday (or “Pato,” as we called him), which made us feel even more part of the family. Doro also cooked for us vegetarian food several times, always with great care and warmth. Although we didn't use it, we had the sauna available to try whenever we wanted. All the tasks were clearly explained beforehand, and the necessary tools were always provided. We often worked independently, which gave us the freedom to organize and carry out the tasks in our own way. Regarding schedules, we generally had flexibility to adjust our working hours. In terms of mobility, Malling and Magnus kindly lent us their car on a few occasions so we could run errands, and Doro and Patric were always available to drive us to the train station whenever needed. Overall, it was a truly enriching and memorable experience that we are very grateful for.🥹✨

Kristoffer and Snorre from Denmark were absolutely fantastic volunteers during their stay with our community school and non-profit organization in Gomba district, Uganda! These two young men brought so much positive energy, dedication, and genuine care to our disadvantaged children. They taught Mathematics and English classes with great enthusiasm and creativity which made the kids excited to learn, participate, and ask questions. In addition to the classroom work, they organized and led soccer training sessions on our field almost every afternoon. The children absolutely loved it! Kristoffer and Snorre taught proper techniques, encouraged teamwork, built sportsmanship, and turned every session into a joyful, active experience. Many of our kids had never had this kind of structured sports coaching before, and it created wonderful memories, new friendships, and a lot of happiness. Thank you so much, Kristoffer and Snorre and you will always be welcomed back here. Our doors and hearts are open anytime!

I spent a wonderful week in Macedon with Rose, Tristan and the kids. Everything was pretty much as described in their profile and through the clear communication we had prior to my arrival. I really appreciated the flexibility in managing my work hours and the sense of trust I got from both Rose and Tristan. My main task was raking the bark and leaves. They were available if I had questions and as I didn't have a car, Rose also kindly gave me a lift to the shops so I could get food for lunches and to the start of hiking routes in the area so I could explore. The property is gorgeous and such a great place to observe kangaroos but also the beautiful birds. I enjoyed our conversations and jokes over the delicious dinners they provided and it was a great getaway from the city as well as a way to discover country life!

I really enjoyed my experience there at the ecovillage! I worked with Jen, Brian and Leah with differents shifts, mainly focusing on Leah’s permaculture garden. My contribute was about to dig and dob the soil, to paint and more tasks outdoors, 3h x 5 days in exchange of a comfy place to stay. The family is so kind and quite open to communicate and, above all, to the listening :) Thank you guys! I hope to see you next time!

Our time with Cole was amazing. She was so friendly, such a great cook, and such a good teacher when it came to the things she needed help with on the farm. The farm is in a quaint and lovely part of New Zealand with beautiful sunsets. The animals are cute and so much fun to work with. It is a farm and we definitely got our hands dirty so be prepared for “the farm life” when attending. Overall, the conversation shared between us was so inspiring and thought provoking and Cole is just an amazing human! Such a great week! My wife and I feel very fortunate to have had this opportunity and to meet Cole ❤️
