  • Description

    Description

This hostel is owned and run by a group of 5x friends from Naples, France, USA and New Zealand. We all really love the city, we enjoy meeting travellers and feel passionate about being able to provide a homely and informative spot for people to stay as they too discover this wonderful city.

The hostel itself was the first independently owned hostel in Naples (started in 1999). The current owners took over in December 2012 and have been working slowly but steadily to renew the structure and to conserve the charm of this vulcanic stone building and the character within it.

Napoli is a very particular city - and in our opinion it is incredibly underrated. Napoli is rich in history and culture - there are actually too many sights to see. The people are friendly and the city is very much alive and fun to discover.

We are located in the centre of so many interesting cultural sights and museums for instance:
    - pompei
    - herculaneum
    - vesuvius
    - amalfi coast
    - capri, ischia, procida (islands)
    - campi flegrei
    - archeological museum
    - capodimonte park
    - san severo
    - all the thousands of churches in napoli
    - THE LIST REALLY JUST GOES ON AND ON

Within the hostel we like to think of it as a home in the centre - we have guests from all over the world so you can have the opportunity to practice many different languages meeting all sorts of incredibly interesting people. You will learn about the hospitality industry and you will learn about PEOPLE. All kinds of people - we think this is one of the most important aspects of life-learning.

A lot of our volunteers return to the hostel so we take this as a sign that they have enjoyed their time here with us. We are happy to put you in touch with past volunteers if you want to find out more directly from them too!

We are proud of the way that we run our hostel and we are happy to share what we know and enjoy with you.

  • Help

    Help

We require help from volunteers in the day to day running of the hostel. This help is in the form of watching reception, interacting with guests (sharing your experiences of Napoli with the guests of the hostel) and each day there is a small amount of cleaning to be done also. In return we provide you with accommodation, food and breakfast each day.

We have 5 workawayers at time, but we don't take couples. Only single accounts.

We do structure the volunteering hours into a timetable but you will be rostered on for 4/5x days each week, the other 2/3x days you are free to explore and get to know the city and the guests.

We do need volunteers who can speak fluent english but any other spoken languages are also welcome (especially Italian and French - we have a lot of French guests)

We ask that volunteers commit to staying with us for at least 6 weeks and up to 8 weeks.

Please get in touch if you are interested and available. Naples is an amazing city to live in, full of energy, nice people, very cheap living (FOOD AND SOCIAL LIFE) and an incredible amount of history and culture to be experienced - we love it :-)

    Languages spoken

English is the main language - but we have guests from all over the world so all languages are spoken at some point (especially French and Italian)

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

The accompmodations depends on time of season/ number of volunteers. We have three small staff rooms that sleep 4 people in total, so if we have 5 volunteers you have to sleep in the dorm rooms sometimes, but normally 4 out of 5 weeks you are in a staff room. Free breakfast every day, plus free wifi and use of all hostel facilities (we do have other perks but it depends on the season etc so write us to find out more!) - in exchange we ask that you work 4/5x shifts per week; these will be a mixture of morning (8:00am - 4:00pm 8:00am - 12:00) and/or evening ( 4:00pm - midnight, 7:00pm - midnight) shifts.
