    Description

    Hello!
We are Kevin and Alexis, a married French couple living in Puteaux, immediately next to Paris and La Défense. Kevin works in finance, while Alexis works in French public administration.

We are calm, friendly, open-minded and respectful people. We enjoy travelling, sports, cinema, reading, escape games and discovering other cultures. Our household is vegetarian, inclusive and friendly. We do not drink alcohol. We enjoy spending time together and sharing conversations, while also respecting everyone’s privacy and independence.

Our project is to welcome an independent English-speaking adult who would like to experience everyday French life and improve their French naturally. In return, we would love to practise our English through ordinary conversations: over meals, during outings or simply as part of daily life. This is a genuine cultural and language exchange, not a formal teaching position. There are no lessons to prepare, and we do not expect childcare, housework or any other professional service.

Our family is expected to grow in about a year through surrogacy in the United States. We hope to raise our future child in a bilingual French-English environment. If someone stays with us long-term, we would love English to become a natural part of our home, but there will be no childcare responsibility.

We can offer a comfortable private furnished bedroom with a bed, sofa, television and air conditioning, as well as a private shower. The length of stay can be flexible, from one month to a semester, an academic year or even longer if everyone is happy with the experience.

Puteaux is a pleasant and well-connected town just outside Paris. It offers easy access to central Paris while providing a calmer and more comfortable place to live. We would be happy to help our guest settle in, understand everyday life in France, gain confidence speaking French and discover Paris and the surrounding area.

We are looking for someone kind, reliable, respectful and open-minded, who feels comfortable living with a married male couple and in a vegetarian household. Above all, we hope to meet someone who is looking for a genuine human and cultural exchange and who will feel both welcome and independent in our home.

  • Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Staying with us is an opportunity to experience everyday French life in a calm, friendly and inclusive home close to Paris.

We will be happy to share the French language, our culture, traditions and practical knowledge about living in France. We can help our guest understand local customs, learn useful expressions and discover Puteaux, La Défense and different areas of Paris beyond the usual tourist attractions.

We enjoy sharing vegetarian meals and talking about travel, films, books, sports and our different ways of life. Depending on everyone’s interests and availability, we could also enjoy walks, cinema outings, sports, escape games or simply a relaxed evening at home. These activities are optional, as we want our guest to have plenty of freedom and independence.

For us, hosting someone is also a wonderful opportunity to discover another country through a person who actually lives there. We would love to learn about our guest’s culture, traditions, everyday habits, humour and point of view.

We hope this exchange will allow both sides to improve their language skills, broaden their understanding of another culture and, ideally, create a genuine and lasting friendship.

  • Help

    Help

The help we are looking for is mainly a relaxed English-French language and cultural exchange.

We would like an English speaker to help us improve our vocabulary, pronunciation, listening skills and confidence through natural conversations. This could happen during shared meals, walks, outings around Paris or simple discussions about everyday life, films, travel and our different cultures. We would appreciate being gently corrected and learning the expressions that native speakers actually use.

In return, we will be happy to help our guest practise French, correct mistakes, explain French expressions and customs, and become more confident in everyday situations. We can also help them settle into life near Paris and discover the local area.

There are no formal lessons to prepare and no strict daily timetable. We do not expect housework, childcare or any professional service. We would simply agree together on a flexible rhythm that allows us to share meaningful conversations while respecting everyone’s personal time and independence.

As we hope to welcome a baby in about a year, our long-term goal is also to make English a natural part of our future family environment. However, our guest will not have any childcare responsibilities.

The Workawayer will have their own private, furnished bedroom in our home. The room includes a comfortable bed, a sofa, a television and air conditioning. They will also have their own private shower.

The bedroom will be their personal space, and we will always respect their privacy and independence. Our home is calm, clean and located in Puteaux, very close to La Défense and with convenient public transport connections to central Paris.

Accommodation is provided free of charge as part of our cultural and language exchange.

Ours is a vegetarian household, and we ask our guest to respect this during their stay. The exact arrangements regarding meals will be discussed clearly together before confirming the stay, depending on everyone’s schedule and preferences.
