Description
I am Arjun 54, enjoying our life with one son and a wife, working as a director of our NGO on a partial volunteer basis for the last six years. Before that, I was involved in many organizations to improve the status of children and women in Nepal for more than 22 years. Our NGOs provide limited scholarships for the continuation of school for the marginalized community, otherwise, they could marry at the age of 14-16 due to poverty. The area is a 7-9 hours drive from Kathmandu. The area is called "Mrigaulia" in Sundar Haraincha Municipality in Morang district.
My wife is teaching for a master's in the Public Health Program at Purbanchal University, near our girl's project(eastern Nepal). She was the one who found this community through her student survey. She is one of the key people for the local contact person for the volunteer. The area is flat, hot and humid.
So, we welcome volunteers over 23 years old, open, kind-hearted, have no self-interest, are vegetarians, are free from alcohol and drugs, respect local culture and heritage, and have no discrimination among beneficiaries.
We encourage you to apply for 3 months or more.

Volunteer posted at the eastern tarai for teaching or artwork. where they get free accommodation, could join in a local festival, rituals, and off time they could travel local area, city and explore the different ethnic group cultures. So traveler lean many things more than a tourist by sharing experience.
Help
our NGO mainly focuses on improving the education system in eastern Nepal. We request volunteers to contribute either in teaching English for the different class at the government schools or assist/conduct art/craft class for young children where the children (class five through grade nine) study.
If a volunteer is well known for the updating website, creating the organization Face Book page, assist in proposal writing, develop a network in public health workers also be welcome.

Accommodation
After the COVID, we stopped hosting in Kathmandu but at the eastern Tarai we can coordinate for simple room with a bed, a chair, a small table. Guest needs to use Asian toilet that family also uses, We will offer regular food (2-3 times) that the family eats, where guest stays, but need to manage own transportation, and other associated costs.
What else ...
S/he can visit locals city, organic tea garden, sunrise area, temple, visit teachers house, travel with teachers having local travel and travel different tourist attractions area even Darjeeling(India) is not far from eastern Nepal.
