Description
Environmental enthusiasts Irish - Czech Family of 4 (2boys 5 and 9 years old) living in Co Leitrim, North West Ireland. We have a field and some animals. We do not operate as a business but want to be as sustainable and environmentally friendly as we can. The soil in this area is heavy clay and difficult to work with so we are always looking for ways to improve it. There are overgrown areas that we would like to cultivate or get creative with. We are living in the area a long time and are well established with our neighbours. There is a nice community spirit here and many different friendly characters around to keep things interesting. In the shed we have a skating ramp and table football so there are parties from time to time.
We are environmentally conscious and like to minimise waste by recycling, reusing, or repurposing items. Giving life to old worn-out things is a hobby.
We love the outdoors - campfires, singing, camping, hiking, cycling.
We live an 1 hour from the sea side (Sligo) and 2 hours from Dublin by car. Carrick on Shannon is the closest town and is a great place, full of culture and life, especially at the weekends, with live bands etc.
We can offer separate accommodation in a shared house. There would be a private bedroom and sitting room with a semi-private kitchen. It would suit a single person, a couple or two friends.
We ate focused on our own waste management and you will need to comply with our crazy rules.Types of help and learning opportunities

I have a lot of experience with horticulture and would be happy to pass on this knowledge by working together.
We like to build things and have a nice workshop for projects. Visitors could benefit from working together on these projects.
We have a great community around us and visitors would be integrated. We would have gatherings some evenings for either food or drink with games.
Locally, Carrick-On-Shannon is very busy at the weekends and there are always events - music, exhibitions, sport
You would be welcome to join us on our hikes or for camping when we goAu Pair Help

Double en-suite bedroom, private sitting room and small semi-private kitchen
We live on 2 acre site, with two houses. One is our family house, the other is a 6 bedroom BnB in which currently 4 rooms are rented long term. Kitchen, dining room and sitting room is in that part of the house. Back kitchen has washing machine and dryer.
You could have your own double en-suite room and sitting room. You could also use the back kitchen as your kitchen as it has fridge, sink and small hob. We will fill your fridge so, preferably, you can cook up your own meals and be independent. But you are welcome to join our meal times too. We don't eat much meat, but we are not vegetarians.
If you're coming as home help and preparing common meals then that would be done in our house. What else ...
