Welcome to a Peaceful Retreat in the Heart of Umbria

This is more than just a nature and cultural exchange , it’s a place for those seeking a slower, more connected way of living. If you're someone who values sustainability, quiet moments in nature, meaningful connection, and creative expression, I warmly invite you to join me here.

After ten years of traveling the world and five deeply transformative years living in India, I returned to my roots in Umbria to create a space that reflects the lifestyle I had been searching for. This is a minimal-waste home surrounded by nature, with a growing garden, a small farm, and a big heart. It's a place where art, nature, music, and community come together because I believe they are deeply connected.

You’ll be sharing space with some of my dearest companions: three dogs (Shakti, Lina, and Longo), cats, chickens, turkeys, and more animals on the way. Every day here is a mix of simplicity, creativity, and care for the land, for each other, and for ourselves. Though it may feel like a peaceful Himalayan village, we’re just 10 minutes from Montegabbione (with shops, pharmacies, and anything you might need) and only two hours from Rome. There are beautiful hot springs a short drive away, and strong Wi-Fi makes it possible for digital nomads, students, or remote workers to stay connected while unplugging from city life.

This place is open to anyone who wants to take part: whether by helping out in the garden, caring for animals, painting, cleaning, or simply sharing your energy and ideas. If you’re creative, motivated, and have good vibes to share, you’re very welcome here. The nature and cultural exchange can accommodate up to 5 people and it is recommended to come with a friend (or connect with others via Workaway or other travel communities).

Come as you are. Stay for a while. Let nature, simplicity, and community bring you back to yourself.
    With love,
    Gabriele

You will learn how to live a minimal waste life with no power or water - we gather water from the mountains, heat water with gas or wood but live a very comfortable life. You will learn how to grow trees, compost, garden, and so much more. We also encourage lots of movement, meditation and conversations together.

  • Help

    Help

Helping out in the garden, caring for animals, painting, renovating, cleaning, or simply sharing your energy and ideas. If you’re creative, motivated, and have good vibes to share, you’re very welcome here. There are daily chores that need to be done in the house or outside (feeding the chickens, taking out the compost, etc.) and each visitor is expected to choose whatever they prefer from the list or suggest ideas of their own of how they can help.

There are several outlets in both bedrooms and space to work in. I have had freelancers and students stay with me in the past and they had no problems working and doing Zoom calls.
