  • Description

We offer a monthly pocket money!
We only accept people for a minimum of 6 months!

We started to host because we wanted to remain open to the world, be in contact with different cultures, and trying to mix them in the best way. This is the philosophy of our way to be a host family!

We are Francesca, Marco, Anita and Demetra. We also have a cute medium size dog called Leh, and two cats, Mina and Zar. When Francesca was 18 years old she went to Ireland to work in a horse riding centre with conditions very similar to those of an aupair, and the experience was a turning point! So, we know how you feel and what you are going to do :)
Francesca is a PhD researcher in Human Rights and Marco an engineer, Anita attends a nursery that is 10' far from home by bike. Anita understands English because we've been hosting (wonderful) aupairs since when she was 18 months old. She can also understand some Greek because we spent six months in Greece! Demetra was born while we were hosting an aupair so we hope she will get used easily to the new language.
Francesca holds a C1 level and Marco a B2 of English.
We already had experience both with au pair and babysitters, and they are available to talk to you about our family and whatever you'd like to know before considering spending some time with us- just drop us a message and we'll arrange it!
Anita is very active, she loves to listen to music, to dance, to draw and to read books, as well as to go to the playground. So far, Demetra loves to eat, sleep, be clean eheh.

Our daily routine is Marco going every weekday to the office in a close village while usually, Francesca works home-based. Sometimes Francesca has to go to Padua to the University, it depends on the period. Anita is at the kindergarten from 8 to 4, and usually, the aupair goes to pick her up but sometimes we have a grandmother to pick her up. Next year Demetra will go to a nursery close by, presumably from 8 to 4.

We are looking for a caring and dedicate who could babysit Anita and Demetra after kindergarten/nursery and help with house chores, no more than 5 hours a day. We will provide you with a monthly public transports ticket, so it will be easy for you to move.
You’ll be asked to be creative and enjoy time with Anita and Demetra without watching cartoons or telly, or iPad and mobile!
Sometimes we could ask you to babysit Anita and/or Demetra during the night. The working hours will be never more than 25hrs/week.
    Weekends will generally be free.

  • Accommodation

We live in a detached house in the suburbs of Venice, that is reachable by bus in 30'-40'. We have a beautiful garden where we try to cultivate some vegetables and fruits.
You'll have your bedroom and the bathroom will be shared with Anita and Demetra.
The closest village where you can find bars, bakeries and pubs is 5' distant by bus (10' by bike), the distance from Mestre (bigger city) is 15' -20' by bus, it depends where you want to go. We are very close to a green park as well as lovely promenades.

We try to respect and preserve nature and the world as much as we can, especially by adopting simple actions that can reduce our ecological impact (recycle waste, using washable nappies, riding bike, limiting online purchase, buying from local shops...).

  • What else ...

    What else ...

The area where we live is plenty of cities to visit, museums, cultural and sports events reachable in 10-30-40' it depends. However, it offers also a natural side to enjoy.
Our house is 50 meters far from the bus station. Venice is very well connected with the rest of Italy, so it's easy to visit many other Italian cities on a weekend.
