Description
This is a truly magical property of moorish, medieval, mountain terraces in La Taha, situated between the two longest and most spectacular gorges of the Southern Sierra Nevada (Alpujarra Granadina). Having developed it over 21 years it needs an individual or couple to be its caretaker(s) from 20th August until the first half of September. I have been a local and international guide for many years, sharing my knowledge of these mountains and their trails with numerous visitors. I am here most days when I'll allocate some tasks for you to get done in your own time. It's a paradise for those wishing to live off-grid and away from the noises and pollution of the modern world. There's no road access, it being 10 minutes walk from the nearest village, surrounded by some of the most beautiful walking trails in Andalucia.

Help
Looking for help from someone immediately with a special interest in being able to look after the plants and animals during the last week of August as the summer heat subsides requiring some training from me beforehand, from the 20th August. A paradise for the adventurous with a keen interest in self-sufficiency and those looking for a retreat experience surrounded by beauty and nature. However, despite being a remote, rural area there are a surprising amount of friendly, alternative and creative people nearby. Some tasks will be physically demanding but there are jobs to suit all types. Help with IT organisation is very welcome too, especially in context with this property's future promotion as an eco-retreat. This will be more like a rental deal whereby you pay for your lodging through 15 hours work minimum per week with gas and firewood included. I'm looking for more long- term volunteers ( a month minimum) from now until the end of the year. Experienced couples are welcome to apply as well as keen individuals..

A 6m diameter Mongolian yurt will be your bedroom and the main house is yours to use and keep clean during the day. Your duty will be to improve it with love and care. Solar panel electricity. Mobile data works everywhere.
3 hours/ day, Monday to Friday if you are able to deal with your own cooking. Some lunches we will share, but your food will be your own responsibility, giving you more freedom, flexibility and independence. **To be discussed. I am flexible on this agreement** Otherwise, it would be 5hours/day with food and cooking included. What else ...
This would require quite a bit of training for the first few days by me (George)... an interesting proposal for those who wish to oversee the longterm development of a project, while working together in a group and individually assuming different roles and responsibilities. I'm keen to welcome an enthusiastic, mature and independent individual or couple through spring and summer concentrating on water channel maintenance and irrigation and dog and cat care. Help with IT will also be much appreciated, even a priority!

it has been a extraordinary beautiful and intense time with you at the Cortijo. Such a lovely, enchanted place, the waterfall next door, stunning views (if we weren't in the clouds) and peacefully quiet in the evenings.
