Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We are a multicultural, multilingual household where English and Thai are spoken daily. Our home has a small but productive garden and a variety of fruit trees, and we’re happy to share our experience and knowledge in agriculture and homesteading. We also love showing guests around our beautiful area, surrounded by rich natural habitat and peaceful scenery.

Help
Our ideal Workawayer becomes part of the family. When mom or dad have chores, you’re happy to lend a hand. Tasks may include helping in the garden—from planting and harvesting to general upkeep. Experience with canning or preserving is a wonderful bonus. We also have ongoing projects on our small ranchette, like chopping wood for winter and keeping the blackberries under control. Spending time reading, playing, creating, or exploring with our energetic 10-year-old son, Jerry, is greatly appreciated when needed.

What else ...
We enjoy spending time at our local beaches, forests, mountains, and National Parks, as well as making the occasional trip into town. The river is just five minutes away—perfect for a refreshing dip on hot days. Towering redwoods line much of the Northern California coast, creating scenery you truly have to see to believe. Backcountry camping and hiking are all close by, with easy access to the Trinity Alps, Marble Mountains, Six Rivers National Forest, Redwood National Park, Prairie Creek State Park, and the incredible North Coast of California.
