    Description

    Are you ready for the experience of a life time?

    Do you want to join us as crew in end of May until early September?

    VERY IMPORTANT!
    Please read below to make sure you understand what we are looking for.

    We are an International family of four living on our sailboat. We have been traveling North and Central America full-time since 2014.
    Our boat is a 73 ft monohull, she is an old racing boat converted in to a luxury yacht.
    The boat is sailing San Blas island, Panama this year.
    During this period there will be only you and the Captain onboard.

    WE ARE LOOKING FOR ONE (1) CREW!

    WE ARE LOOKING FOR A COOK!

    You will also help the Captain around the boat, to maintain the boats high standard.
    You will assist the captain sailing, navigating and anchoring the boat.

    ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

    !!! But your main task will be COOKING for crew and for our guests when onboard !!!

    ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

    Most days, you cook simple lunch and dinner for the crew then just relax and enjoy the beach, go snorkeling or kayaking, chill in a hammock and read a book. When we have guests onboard you need you to be ready to get busy, make three meals a day for them, feed the crew and help operate the boat.

    You have experience working in a kitchen or strong and/or versatile cooking skills.
    We need you to be clean, tidy and have good organization skills in the galley.
    You have knowledge in meal planning and understand provisioning in remote location.
    You have to be able to cook full breakfast, bake bread, mainly cook fish and seafood, but also meat, vegetarian/vegan food and restriction diets and desserts. All simple food but very tasty!

    PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU ARE SERIOUS, FIT THE CRITERIA (see below) AND ACTUALLY WANT TO COME.

    We are looking for a dynamic team player, non-smoker, who enjoys a healthy, active living with a positive view on life.

    We are looking for someone who prefers the quiet life, who is discrete, neat and tidy and respect privacy but also know how to interact with our guests. We need someone who is self-motivated and hard-working but of course also with a positive attitude and good vibes. We are very easy going but we also like structure.

    If you have any boat or sailing experience, it is a huge plus but not required.
    If you DO NOT have any previous experience, please understand that there is a lot of responsibility involved. This is a big boat and needs two people to maneuver and YOU will be the one helping the Captain to do that. So keep that in mind if you apply.

    The whole family will be onboard when you arrive but will be leaving within a few days in the beginning of June. There will be a smooth hand-over and you will be shown what type of food you are expected to cook, recipes and how to operate the galley.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

    The San Blas is a remote location. Most of the time will be spent on the boat or visiting the islands. Some are inhabited by indigenous people, the locals (Kunas) live in huts and some run small hostels, tent rentals and / or restaurants. Many islands are just sand patches with coconut trees. There are no grocery stores, pharmacies or other shops. Most islands are untouched by modern society. This will be your time to reconnect with the simplicity of life and the beauty of nature.
