I live in a wonderful older neighborhood in NE Portland. My home is often full of interesting people who come and go via an online rental website and longer-term renters.
This spring I am remodeling my garage into an office/guest space and would love to help of willing guests to work with me and mu builder. It has been my dream for 5 years to do so and soon I will begin this project. We might be hauling, digging up plants, and trench for a new foundation, helping with sheetrock, painting, tiling, or whatever the day brings. I would appreciate ~ 5 hours work/day, 4-5 days/ week. If there is no work to be done on a particular day, I would encourage you to go explore the sights, activities and food of the Pacific Northwest.
It has been my dream for 5 years to do so and soon I will begin this project. I desire to
- have as much FUN as possible,
- use reclaimed materials when available,
- create a jaw-droopingly charming space
- build it with the energy of love-joy-inspiration-inovation and give that energy to everyone who enters
- all on a hummingbird-size budget!
This will be the 5th renovation I have done in the last 7 years.
I would appreciate it my guests would stay for 1-3 weeks, or longer, if the Universe designs it to be. I hope to have it finished as finances and loving "elbow-grease" allows. My goal is to have it PAID IN FULL upon completion. Miracles happen for those who believe. ;-)
I have a beautiful garden and neighborhood that is perfect for walking, close to restaurants and easy access to public transportation.
Once this project is complete, I plan on doing transformational workshops and travel with "workaway" myself.
DIY and building projects
Travelers will benefit from the joys of collaborative efforts, helping me make my dreams come true, having opportunity to live in a nice setting and explore the amazing Pacific Northwest. My guests might also enjoy joining me for a Sunday Waltz Brunch where I teach an introductory waltz lesson and then enjoy beautiful DJ'd music and a light brunch.

I have a guest room on the main floor that shares a bath and kitchen with me. I am happy to provide all meals, on the evenings I am home we may eat together (I teach dance in the evenings).
Portland is a wonderful city to explore by bike and public transport. The scenic Columbia River Gorge, Mt. Hood, Mt. St. Helens, Crater Lake, the Oregon coast and even Seattle are all within 1-5 hours drive.
Many of my paying guests come to Portland for the food, beer, wineries, cultural events, hiking and outdoor activities.
I work from my home and plan to be working on the cottage too, whenever I am not teaching dance, doing yoga or other creative ventures.
