  ¡Hola!
  We are a family living in Northern Galicia with our two little ones, Zen (5 years old) and baby Nui (8 months). We live surrounded by cliffs, surf beaches, and wild forests, on 1.5 hectares of land where we explore a nature-connected way of living, inspired by regeneration, creativity, and community.
  Over the past years, we have restored this place ourselves, learning by doing, experimenting, making mistakes, and enjoying the process. One of these projects is a house next to our own. What once was a ruin is now a solid, bright home with three floors, a new roof, windows and doors, and a finished top floor with beautiful views. It already feels very comfortable and alive, and we are now in the phase of giving it its final shape.
  Since welcoming our newborn, we have less time and energy to continue this process on our own. That’s why we are happy to open this chapter to others, not as a job, but as a shared experience. We are looking for people who enjoy working with their hands, who already have some building or renovation skills, and who feel inspired to co-create, bring ideas, and use their creativity. For us, this kind of exchange is very different from hiring a worker: it’s about sharing knowledge, learning from each other, and shaping a place together in a personal and playful way.
  The help can include creative and practical finishing work in and around the house, always depending on your interests, skills, and what feels right for everyone. We decide together what you’d like to contribute and what you’d like to learn. Nothing is rushed, and the process is as important as the result.
  We usually imagine around four hours of help per day, five days a week, with weekends free, but this is flexible and always open to discussion. What matters most to us is clarity and alignment of expectations on both sides. We appreciate it when Workawayers share what they are looking for, how much structure they like, how they relate to work, and what kind of food situation suits them.
  We provide breakfast and lunch, and in exchange you stay in the separate house next to ours. It’s spread over three floors, with lots of space, light, and privacy, electricity and fresh spring water. Dinner is often flexible, sometimes shared, sometimes everyone follows their own rhythm and we’re happy to talk this through beforehand.
  Life here is about more than projects. We share our days with a friendly dog, a cat, and chickens, and we’re part of a small, vibrant community. Friends and neighbors often come by for shared meals, music, creativity, conversations, and spontaneous plans. Surfing, climbing, sailing days, BBQs, dancing, jam sessions, and time in nature are a natural part of life here.
  Chris is an adventurer at heart, sailor, survival guide, photographer, and nature lover. Simcha is a midwife, nurse, and dancer with a deep love for movement, balance, and embodied living. We are raising our children close to nature, freedom, and real human connection, and hosting is part of that journey for us.
  From hosting, we hope to learn from other ways of living, building, creating, and seeing the world. If you enjoy hands-on projects, value independence combined with shared life, and are looking for a meaningful exchange rather than a work contract, we’d love to hear from you.

  Living with us means becoming part of a slower, more intentional way of life. Travellers will learn from hands-on building experience, community-based living, and raising children close to nature. There’s space for cultural exchange through shared meals, conversations, and everyday life, as well as outdoor adventures like surfing and exploring the Galician coast.

  A private three-floor house next to our home, offering lots of space, privacy, and beautiful views. Electricity and fresh spring water available. Outside warm shower and compost toilet until the bathroom in the house is finished.

  What else ...

  Check out the Ortigueira area on Google. Many many things to do over here! You will need a car if you want to explore a bit on your own as well, also handy if you need to do some shopping etc. (hiring over here is around 10 euro's a day). There are as well trains and busses going but not often a day!

  At our place there is connection if you have internet on your phone. No WIFI available. In town there is a library with good internet connection. I like to go there to work, also they have outside picknick tables.
