    Description

We are a family of 6 that live on a remote island in the Hauraki Gulf. We love the outdoors, fishing, diving, kayaking, swimming,...
We have 4 children who are all teenagers and are looking to host outgoing individuals who can help us out a bit in our garden and around the property.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We live in paradise and would love to share cultures with other people around the world. We have built our own home and garden out here off of Great Barrier Island. The mother and children are Maori and the father is Canadian. We can share knowledge on all the things to do with off-grid living.
We hope to learn about other cultures and languages from those that come to visit.

    Accommodation

We have a private spare room with a queen size bed in our home for guests. We have all the bedding needed.
We eat a big lunch together as a family and everyone helps themselves to breakfast and dinner. We have a large pantry and a well stocked freezer, garden, and plenty of fish in the ocean.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

We have kayaks, fishing and snorkel gear at the house. We live on a small island with beautiful views and beaches. There is plenty to do in your spare time. We also go into Great Barrier Island a couple times a week which make for great day trips.

Because we live on an island, you'll need to travel to Great Barrier Island. You can come by ferry or plane. From there we can boat you to and from our place. It's a real adventure out here!
